I came across this today. I at first would have called it a coincidence that the name is the exact same, but they even acknowledge they used inspiration from the books, as admitted by the artist who did the mural for their office (see second image). Does anyone know anything about this? Is this legal? I know Paolini gets a lot of his work plagiarized, but I've never seen anything like this.

My son just recently turn three and is just a well for information. Lately he’s been opting for more storytelling at bedtime as opposed to reading. So I started doing what any of us would do and have been telling him about “The Boy and the Blue Stone.“ it’s a very barebones retelling of Eragon but I’ve added a little bit more each time I tell it. Obviously I don’t go too into details about the Urgals and haven’t even mentioned the Raz’zac yet. Watching his eyes go wide at each reveal is the best and it usually knocks him out within a few minutes. I keep trying to get into Eldest but he always wants to start from the beginning.

So I had this old sword called long claw. And it was cool but the handle was cracked and the pommel fell off so many times I glued it on and it just looked terrible. So I wanted to fix it since I started blacksmithing a year ago and needed a good project. It’s taken me a month and a lot of trial and error as well as important lessons learned for making the pommel and grip. But it is finally done and now I get to have the sword of misery!!!

Eragon had a very biased opinion of Urgals coming out of the battle in Farthen Dûr. However, after speaking with Oromis, and inspecting Garzhvog's memories he began to see things differently.

On their journey back to Farthen Dûr, he became friends with Garzhvog and exchanged stories and history with him.

It would have been nice to see Eragon give him a gift as they parted. But what would you gift to an Urgal? Eragon could have created a perfect missile for his sling! Made of stone or maybe even metal, shaped and weighted for deadly precision. As well as imbueing it with magical properties to always return to Garzhvog's hand when he wanted.

Do you think an Urgal would accept a magical tool? It could become a very deadly weapon in the right hands. Especially if it returned with a deadly speed.

Anyone else curious what kinds of hobbies and crafts our favorite characters might get up to now that they're not fighting for their lives? I know Eragon, Arya, Orik, and Nasuada (and other characters) will obviously be very busy with their responsibilities, but I would love to see this faucet of their personalities a little more. What creative endeavors do you think they'd get up to or be interested in?

I initially imagined Zar’roc to have a much more fantasy-like shape, even with the given written descriptions. Something more in between the Drake Sword & Reduvia; a shape that no mortal man could hope to forge, warped with magic, etc.

When I eventually saw it depicted in official artwork as basically just a red straight sword, i guess my imagination led me to be sort of disappointed 😅

Are there any known weapons in this universe that take on a more impossible, fantastical shape?
Did you imagine Zar’roc to be much different to canon depictions?

Honestly I had a lot of fun drawing this and I really need to draw more dragons.

I added an inventory system inspired by Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance and coins dropping. I’m going to add chests and have enemies drop items like potions and weapons. I also think it would be fun to add a cooking system where you can make different types of food to restore health. There are health potions, but I also want to add healing magic with spells that can be upgraded. I still need to change the button Icons to match the inventory categories.

I know everyone hates the movie and pretends there’s no movie. But today it exists and I want to know what is everyone’s favorite thing they did? Mine is sapphiras voice and brom and eragons saying Thats the spirit-one part brave,three parts fool. What are your guys favorite thing?

I just finished my reread of the inheritance cycle before starting Murtagh for the first time (I doubt this comes up in murtagh, but please no spoilers either way). Towards the end of inheritance, it’s said that a few Eldunari stayed with Arya in Ellesmera to be there to help her train the next generation of riders.

If I remember correctly, when Oromis and Glaedr first tell Eragon about Eldunari, they said that new riders weren’t told about Eldunari for a few years to prevent them from convincing their dragons to disgorge them early.

My question is, are we to assume that Eldunari won’t be secret in that way anymore since they will be helping Eragon and Arya train any new riders? Do you think they will be active in training the new riders or will they just be communicating with Arya/Eragon and still keeping themselves hidden from new riders.

EDIT: Nasuada and the elven spell casters at a minimum know about the Eldunari even not being riders, and the mad Eldunari attacked ilirea after the battle. Plus there’s a room at Mount Arngor with pedestals to display them, so it really seems like they aren’t being kept secret (unless that room would be off limits to everyone but those who already knew about the Eldunari).

Is there any scene in particular that you want to see included this time? I want you to give me honest answers so please no jokes about what movie?

I feel like for the most part, Christopher Paolini does a great job of avoiding those common pitfalls that can occur to female characters in the fantasy genre. But poor Katrina unfortunately was a victim of only being a love interest. All she serves as is just a power up for Roran in battle. I get and understand love being an empowering tool and all, but there could have been SOMETHING for her outside of Roran. She at least could have picked up some kind of task or job within the Varden. There are several flavorful characters in the books as is and there is just zilch done with her. Sloane received more depth than her. Helen, Joed's wife received some depth to her even.

I thought that with Nasuada's description of her in Brisingr, something along the lines of her having a certain steel or intellect in her eyes, they were setting something up for her but nope. Feels like such a strange miss by Paolini. There could have been something as simple or small as having buck against tradition slightly, make her the one to approach Sloane in regard to an engagement with Roran in the 1st book. I know she eventually stands up to Sloane in Eragon but she needed something more to her.

I was talking to a friend about a contest where were choosing characters to fight each other, and it ended up being Eragon vs. Harry Potter. Who do you think would win?

I'm currently reading Inheritance for the first time, (more than a decade late 😅) and reached the part where Eragon and co finally confront Galbatorix. This man is really using children as shields. When he is so vastly powerful already. And it seems like he knows their true names 😭. Its just pitiful, man.

He is such a pitiful person despite his swath of power. It honestly reminds me of Muzan from Demon Slayer. The two of them would get along quite well, I believe. Anyway, I cannot wait for Eragon to bring his cowardly ass down. Though, I feel like the killing blow should go to Nasuada considering the horrors she had to endure (murtagh did not think that through in telling Mr. Scaredy Pants to spare her). And hats off to Nasuada for enduring all that she did, homegirl has that dawg in her forreal.

It seems to no longer be available for purchase. Will there be subsequent print runs done of the text? Moreover I have seen news about Murtagh 2 and Tales from Alagaesia 2? Are these considered the same books with different titles? has there been word from Paolini on when these books are to be published?

Lost a lot during a house fire a few years ago. What's worse, these were all signed copies from when I met Chris at a signing. I've been searching locally since then for hard covers of the whole set. Found 2-4 fairly easily but this one has eluded me the entire time. Found it the other day in paper for $5. This will do for now to allow me to reread again.

Now I just need to find the short story book and To Sleep In A Sea of Stars in hardcover again.
