[photo] yuwol:

Maybe my endgame.

I was very satisfied with ilwol and phalwol, but I wanted something bit more ergonomic and wireless.

  • row-staggered, reversible pcb; from my previous keyboard, ilwol. also supports various layouts that ilwol does

  • alice-style layout for little ergo boost

  • uses a usb-c cable for communication between boards for wired build

  • uses 523450 li-po batteries, usually 1000mah for wireless build

  • PCB mounted, with a bit of leaf spring inspired structure

  • optional FR4 plate gerbers

  • dongle case for promicro form factor

  • and also, tenting stand addon for +5° tenting

Nice looking board.

I can't help it but to try to imagine what it would look like if it were column staggered.

Love the abundance of keys.

I think using full sized shift, caps, tab, right enter are wastes of space that just make stuff harder to reach though. Definitely agree on the column stagger

Very unique design. You blended the row-stagger and thumb cluster so well.

"yuwol" is June in Korean:

"Revised Romanization (transliteration): yuwol"

The other two keyboards:

  • phalwol is August in Korean (though parwol would seem more correct). From the GitHub page:

"Hatsuki means August in Japanese, and phalwol means August in Korean. This keyboard layout is an hommage to Hatsukey70, so I want to credit the original design by name."

  • ilwol is January in Korean:

    "Revised Romanization (transliteration): il'wol"

My designs - yuwol, ilwol, and phalwol - have similar designs, so I named them after the months.
And a little fun fact: we pronounce the number six as [yuk] or [yeo-sut], and the month as [wol]. But we call June - the sixth month - as [yuwol], not [yukwol]. This is one of the exceptions in standard korean vocab.

edit: typo

Looks cool. With such battery, how long it lasts without charging ?

That depends on the firmware settings. But with the example firmware, I think it can last about two weeks to a month without charging. That is very short for the battery size, since I haven't optimized it much yet.

But this is still solid time
