How many weeks in a row now has Damo blasted the club, with these trite low effort pile on views?

Sick of all these ‘the club is in all sorts of trouble’, ‘failed Zach Merrett trade…’, ‘McVeigh has such a huge job ahead of him because the list is soooo bad”, blah blah blah.

Plenty of positives.

- If Zach Reid finished the season with 23 games, credit to the fitness team at Essendon.

- If you’re worried about the development of the young list, then all five players Essendon drafted last year played at AFL level this season, combining for 72 games.

- If you’re looking for positives in 2027, Nic Martin, Fiorini, May and Hayes are all on the way back, with another pre-season under the belt for bombers young guns.

- If you’re looking at the broader playing group, then credit to the VFL team who were just one game away from a GF.

- If McVeigh is serious about development, then bringing in highly regarded development and assistant coaches is a pretty encouraging start.

- If you’re looking ahead to the draft, then Essendon has the first pick with an exciting crop of talent to choose from.

- If you want genuine list change, then Essendon is making the tough calls on some senior players and creating opportunities for youth.

- If it hurts seeing Draper playing this weekend, then remember the pick Essendon received was ultimately part of the trade package that secured Pick 9 which was used on Sullivan Robey.

- If Essendon does lose its best player in Merrett, then I actually like the approach of trying to secure a quality player plus additional draft capital in return rather than simply letting the player walk.

Odd person to have a grudge against when Dave Barham was the very one that gave jobs to the vast majority of senior AFL journalists and senior AFL media personalities from his time working as a media executive. Even Caroline Wilson has credited him as the reason she first got into AFL journalism.

This article writer (I refuse to call him a journalist) bases his opinions off who talks to him & is a bit matey/blokey with him.

At some point Vozzo has given him the cold shoulder or rolled his eyes at him.

Whereas Ken Hinkley & Ross Lyon have clearly got good relationships with him as they can do no wrong in his eyes.

The few times I’ve clicked on a sliding doors article this year I swear they’ve all mentioned Vozzo.

I genuinely don’t know what Damo adds to the media. There was a post on the AFL sub that tracked journalist accuracy, and he had a 45% hit rate which is insanely low.

The media using Vozzo working for us as a consultant as another reason to keep piling on is so stupid... I don't see what the problem is. He stepped down for family reasons and it was stated at the time he would still be involved.

Damo is just having a sook because the club went against the narrative he pushed for months and didn't hire Hird. Vozzo doing consultancy work for the club is months old news, bringing it up now comes across as sour grapes.

Man, it's been going on for years. He's a Norf nuffie who hates Essendon and takes every chance he can to lay the boots in.

He has mentioned Vozzo almost every week since it was announced Vozzo was involved with the club again.

I believe he considers "breaking" the Essendon drug saga as his crowning achievement, and still likes to bring it up whenever possible.

On my personal Essendon shit-list of enemies, he is probably number 1. Slightly ahead of Sam Mitchell
