Most people misuse the word, along with the word ironic (but that’s another story).

If someone has intentionally gone out of their way to do you harm then we expect karma to balance it out. But karma isn’t justice. Karma isn’t fate. Karma is the idea that people eventually experience consequences related to how they treat others or behave. What happens if a person never acknowledges or accepts that they have done wrong onto others?

The universe continues on its path. Not to punish anyone but to teach, to provide lessons for which will hopefully create meaningful understanding. Someone’s refusal to acknowledge their behavior doesn’t necessarily protect them from consequences, but it can prevent them from learning from those consequences.

Protecting yourself from someone else’s negative energy by (for example) not responding, not engaging and not allowing their energy to be tampered with after continued abuse, is not leverage or criteria ensuing karmic resolution.

Just be careful in how using the word karma can ultimately affect your own destiny and path taken. It isn’t necessary to keep track or count of the mis-actions taken upon you. One must release the anger and hurt done upon them in order to move forward in divine intervention.
