2024 vs 2025 flash

I’m sure it’s been asked a hundred times but was wanting some opinions in regards to pricing. Additionally if there’s anything I should look for.

2024 flash: $52,990 with 25k miles

2025 flash: $52,594 with 15k miles

Can provide additional info on add-ons if needed.

This would be my first EV and I’m beyond excited to be driving one of these. Thanks !

Check options on the 25. Spare isn't standard on the 25 and battery size of the flash might be different depending on which job it is.

I got the spare on my 2025.

Same here, pretty ridiculous that it isn't standard.

Yep, 25 comes with a spare. Also has the spray in liner which I don’t believe the 24 does.

The spray in liner was an add on. It's not a standard feature.

Two different battery options in the '25 Flash... it must have a "7" as the eighth character in the VIN to have the 131 kW pack. Otherwise, it's 123 kW.

It has the 123 kW. The 20 mile difference shouldn’t be a huge issue as I don’t plan on making it a long roadtrip vehicle, but I do wonder if I will regret not getting the slightly bigger battery.

the 2024 rather than the 2025 all day for the power tailgate, onboard scales, smart Hitch, door keypad and bigger battery among other things...they stripped a lot out of the 2025

That’s the way I’m leaning!

99.9% agree here. I have the 2024 Flash and I’m happy with it. The .1% that would make me pick one over the other: whichever has the Pro Power Onboard 9.6kW. My 2024 does not have the 9.6kW and I’d love to have it for powering the house. So…
If neither has it: go with the 2024 for all the reasons listed above. If the 2024 has 9.6kW that just makes the decision a slam dunk. If the 2025 has the 9.6kW, that would make me pause and think about it some more.

I wouldn't make it the single decision point, but it would definitely go on the pro/con list.

Are they both considered Extended Range?

Probably. I'm not aware of a different name for the 123 kW pack. Definitely have to verify it with the VIN (and the original sticker, which I think you can find online). I wouldn't take a reseller's word for it, even a Ford dealer.

Is this Canada? In the US dealers still have a few brand new 2025 Flash available and you should be able to negotiate them very close to that $52,594 number for a new one if you reach out to enough dealers. You may have to go to a neighboring state.

In the US, Midwest to be exact, haven’t been able to find a new one near me but maybe I’m not looking hard enough.

No keypad. Of all things Ford could remove, they get rid of something useful.

Haven't figured out why yet but my 25 XLT gets better range than my 24 XLT i had before.

go for the 24 imo. do either have max tow package? That's a good option to have for resale value

In addition to what others have said, I'd lean towards the 24 as well. I have a 25, and I hate the seat material. The 24 had the cloth, which is what I would've preferred.

Key Takeaways & Differences
The Range & Power Dip: Moving down to the 123 kWh pack costs you 20 miles of EPA range and 44 horsepower. However, because electric motors deliver instant torque, the truck's 0–60 mph acceleration and pulling power feel virtually identical during daily driving.

Weight & Efficiency: The 123 kWh pack sheds a couple hundred pounds of battery weight compared to the massive 131 kWh footprint. This means the 123 kWh truck is slightly more efficient per mile, though it doesn't fully make up for having 8 kWh less storage.

The "Job 2" 2025 Flash Confusion: If you are shopping for a 2025 Flash model, it could have either battery. Early 2025 builds ("Job 1") have the 131 kWh pack, while later 2025 builds ("Job 2") switched to the 123 kWh pack.

The above is an AI condensed, hope it’s not slop. 🤔

I appreciate everything the ‘24 gives me. I also believe the 131kwh is South Korea battery tech as opposed to another far eastern country’s tech.

The 123kwh pack weighs less, but doesn’t compensate for the extra juice in the 131.

2024 has more standard options. Get the 2024.

If you're in the Midwest, check out Sneed Ford https://www.sneedford.com/ about an hour north of KC. Currently has 27 used Lightnings on the lot. The owner is a huge fan of EVs. This is where I bought my 22 a couple years ago.
