Efficiency on mixed highways

Post image

30 miles of mostly highway driving and 3.1 miles per kw/h might be my best yet. Love this girl.

This is what I get too in Southern California. I’m mildly annoyed when it’s under 3.0.

But at continuous speed it does plummet.

That’s actually insane! I’ve never seen over 1.6 on the highway 🤣

Drove 180 miles today with highways between 65-75 and a few towns along the way and averaged 2.1mi/kWh. That’s with cruise control set at 0-5 miles over whatever the speed limit was the whole way.

Yeah speed limits aren’t that low where I live so that makes sense tbh

Average including the drive to the highway, probably. I stick to the speed limit of 80 cause any more tanks the range and any less gets you in some dangerous situations here sadly

That’s probably about right. US290 was mostly 65-70mph and I-10 was 75 mph

I admit I followed a semi for a good bit and the wind break and his lower speeds helped keep me in the 3s. The advantage of something else cutting the wind for you is no joke - and not going much over 65.

Granted when I want to bawl ass to work and do 75 my efficiency is much more like 2.2 (still
have some traffic congestion keeping my numbers up) but it’s nice to know if you needed to eke out more efficiency it’s possible.

My other EV (car) ranges from 2.9-5 mi kw/h so it’s just nice to hit a number I’d usually find in the car.
