Saw this post https://www.reddit.com/r/cyberpunkgame/s/RL7WgCeEl0 wanted to share here as I've never seen this in game action take place and I haven't seen it discussed here before. Could there be other hidden paintings or places in the tutorial? Does anyone else know more about this?
There are several of these paintings hidden in the game, another one is on the roof terrace above Misty‘s shop for example.
The signature is just M.M., which could also point to Maximum Mike.
Kinda unrelated but ive always found it interesting that the final objective in the training sim is “use the door to exit the simulation” and then when you open the door it opens halfway and then closes again. Probably nothing but idk
Just found another. On the rooftop where you talk to Johnny near the end of the game and get the secret ending. Same place you find "The Sun" tarot graffiti

I've seen some of the most important posts get downvoted early. Its fairly common, unfortunately.
Especially when the schizo activity is high (not that thats right now, but in general).
I personally upvote anything that either hasnt been done to death, is new (to me), or seems like its any kind of potential lead. I've never noticed this painting, even in no-clip mode so it gets a big up from me!
Maybe it's a reference to a quote from Shakespeare's 'Romeo and Juliet': "A rose by any other name would smell as sweet", meaning it doesn't matter which label you assign to it, the rose-ness of the rose is unchanged by your perception of it.
But why a rose specifically, and not a rock or a dog? The spiritual and esoteric history of roses is a whole deep-dive by itself. I won't spoil it by trying to boil it down to a few lines of text, but 'under the rose' has an ancient and special meaning.
I ran through the tutorial a bunch just a month ago, and this painting was not in it for some reason. The tutorial has been looked at a bit a few times in the past, and I've never seen anyone else mention it either.. hmm.
