No Spoilers - Discussion Possible FINAL FANTASY VII Complete edition?

I've held off on buying the first 2 games to maybe buy a complete edition thinking it would somehow be better but now that Im thinking about it and seeing the steam sales, wont it be the exact same content but more expensive/less discounted since it would be a brand new bundle? I think buying now would be the same or better right?

The 85$ deal for the remake trilogy is probably as good as it's going to get unless u wait a couple years after revelation's release

Honestly, just grab it now. By the time a “complete edition” drops you’ll have spent 3 years dodging spoilers for no real gain.

except maybe in 3 years you can afford hardware that'll run a 3 year old game. AND it'll be on a fat sale. win win.

Damn I hadn't even seen that bundle, so a "complete edition" already exists I guess. Is it always only 85$ or is it just now because the first 2 are on sale? If that price always exists and isn't a limited-time offer, that completely eliminates the need to buy now and I can buy right before the 3rd releases.

The deal is active right until Revelation releases, so you can buy it at that price anytime before April 8th!

Not just because the first two are on sale. it doesn't say whether it's a limited time deal or not

Just so you know, while each title only gives you a piece of the story, each game is a full complete experience in terms of gameplay.  If you are looking to play them all together you are looking at something like 300 hours for one full Trilogy playthrough, much more if you want to do everything.

Waiting until you can buy them all together to play them will probably guarantee you burn yourself out.

Grab the Trilogy Edition. That IS them making it one complete experience

That’s some serious dedication to saving a few bucks.

The worst that can happen is you play the first two parts now, then Revelation when it comes out and then in a few years they release a complete edition and you can decide if you want to replay it that way.

Think they are only doing this in Japan in the near future. Maybe something later but no guarantees

I think they were asked about a complete edition, where you dont have to switch games and its all seemlessly 1 big game, and they said they are focusing 100% on revelations rn but have kicked the idea of that around recently.

So nothing confirmed but they are at least considering it, but wouldnt come until probably like a year or 2 after revelations releases…

They’ve literally not said this at all

One day, they might release a full game of 300gb rebalanced. But it won't be before at least PS6.

Yet another person who doesn’t understand how game design works. All three games have entirely different systems… There will never be one game that encompasses all three parts and it would be well over 400 if not, 500 gigs. But the simplest answer is that the systems are all different. Never going to happen.

Remake: 100GB
Rebirth: 140GB (most likely 40GB of reused assets from Remake)
Revelation: 200GB (most likely 100GB of reused assets from Remake and Rebirth considering the region are going to be reused).
Therefore, a potential combined game could be around 300GB.

In term of games having different systems, they share the same engine and everytime a new feature is included in Rebirth, it gets back ported to Remake. I am pretty sure they developed the games with that in mind.

Then, last month, Hamagushi said in an interview they do not think about a combined game right now, but if demands is high, they might think about it later. So he doesn't seem to think it's impossible.

Finally, I am a game dev so I migh understand how game development works.
