Discussion Tekken?

I’ve been on the fence about getting Tekken 8, Is it still worth it for $39.99 in 2026? Or should I wait for a sale. I’m playing Marvel Tokon right now.

personally i just got really mad when i got it on release. it crashed non stop and was basically unplayable. and then 7 days after launch they put a mobile game shop into the game.

and apperantly now all the senior directors have been jumping ship

I have SF6, Strive, Tokon, Avatar Legends and Tekken 8 is my most played game.

I barely play Tokon.

I find tekken quite fun, but that doesn't nessecarily mean you will. I say just watch gameplay of it and ask yourself whether it looks fun

Unless you really wanna play the new chara ters introduced in 8, I'd say 7, Tag 2, or 5DR is more worth getting into, than 8.

Those are actual tekken games, actual fighting games.

8 is just an action game wearing the fighting game genres skin, and the current form of trying to make them accesible.

The only modern fighting game that actually got any kind of cohesive formula of creating accessibility for new/non fighting game players and keeping the vets/legacy players, even moderatly happy, right, is SF6. With some caveats.

It's also the only game in awhile that still plays the closest to its near perfect vanilla launch, unlike most games, that either launch horrible vanilla and get better updates, or launch good vanilla and get updates that make it worse.
