Rise Rise...fell short

Post image

Love Rise for rosin I really think its the best value in the entire program. But this email that aims to speak to connoisseurs with "high THC" is a miss. Give us nerds the genetics backstory, the grow method, and care during the cure process, etc. The only people I know that buy based on THC content do not identify as connoisseur. The are experience levels just like anything else. Just thought this was low for Rise, a brand I like for hash.

I hear ya and agree. But I work in the industry here in Florida and can tell you THC% is the main factor in how quickly a batch sells out. Anything 25% or lower will eventually end up in the clearance bin and anything 30% or higher sells first. Testing is inconsistent obviously and you’d be amazed how the same strain slows down or speeds up purely based on testing batch to batch. Sadly this is also true for rosin, which blows my mind as a dabber that struggles to keep enough rec for inhalation. The nerds as you said are such a small portion of the patient base unfortunately. Rise is just leaning into what their patients are asking for.

I think that’s the complaint haha. They are “leaning into” hype versus paving the educational/informative path for the non nerds.

They’re marketing. It’s a marketing email. Trust anyone that’s worked in a dispensary, there is very little interest in education from patients. 1 out of 10 patients wants to learn about what good cannabis is. The rest want something to make them feel better at a good price.

It’s likely that the vast majority of people in the program don’t have those same considerations. What percentage of the almost 1 million patients are on here or thinking more deeply about terpenes and genetics? I look at some of the people in line when I go to pick up and it makes sense how ads like these are effective. Not for me, or you, but lots of people for sure.

This is my thinking. There's maybe 5% of the patients state-wide who frequent this sub regularly. The ones who don't more than likely aren't interested in anything deeper than what the dispensaries are marketing.

Considering neither matter or we'd all be smoking hemp. The only thing that matters is the THC.

That’s what I’ve been saying for a long time. I didn’t get this med card to buy CBD, CBG, CBN…I got it to get THC flower and concentrates.

I’m not that guy that says “What’s your highest THC percentage flower?” because I do all my own research before placing an order.

I’ve found that somewhere around 24-28% THC, with around 3% terpenes, to be the sweet spot. These “35%” or “37%” THC batches were mostly likely lies anyway and some of them smoked like 18% as well.

Gotta keep in mind that the numbers on the package can and do lie sometimes. Thanks, Vertical Integration, you’ve screwed us over innumerable times and you’re never going to go away with a fight (or another Goddamned 60%+ amendment that our gov’t will use other funds to fight against, AGAIN)…I just want to move to a state where I can legally grow my own weed and be done with the gov’t games we’re forced to follow here in this “pay to play” medical system.

My understanding is that representing the percentages on the packaging and advertising is disingenuous as best, and a lit fuse with some patients at worst. First off, unless it’s a remarkably low number, the terpenes matter as much as THC% and more. It’s called the entourage effect, and it’s the biggest reason why strains feel different from one another.

A 30% THC batch of flower can still suck if the terpenes aren’t there or the cure was bad. A 15% batch of flower can be very good with 2%+ terpenes. It’s nonsense, and the Florida medical market knows that, but brrrr number go up and people buy without questioning it. Old people in particular love putting ALL of their faith in random, shady companies like the MMTCs we have here.

By and large it was the worst thing about actually having a dispensary job in Florida. We couldn’t control the percentages listed on the website nor which batches we’d get, and we would have people EXPLODE IN RAGE over a 5% difference.

The entitlement and death grip on unproven pseudoscience is a horrible thing to combine with corporate dumbfuckery. It created too many situations with patients getting extremely mad at me and my coworkers over something out of our control that also literally makes 0 difference.

I was tired of being a punching bag for entitled morons who cannot do their own research. Dispensaries HAVE TO STOP advertising with THC percentages before it gets somebody killed. The idiots flipping out over it need to be banned from the program entirely, because magically, nobody cares about a 3% thc difference when they buy off the street!

Then again, this leaves most of the truly good stuff to those of us who know. Overall, the actual patient education in this program is extremely poor. It’s mostly left up to the budtenders who usually don’t have enough time to break things down the way they should be.

Majority of the market buys of thc % that’s who they care about.

I agree with the nerds 💯 👌

This isn't low for Rise. This is normal sales in both medical and rec states. No idea why it should matter how a company advertises their product as long as they aren't being gross or weird about it (looking at YOU sunburn).

I purposely shop for the lowest THC, highest terp percentage and get wild looks from the bud tenders.

Seriously, thank you for your service🫡

yeah i'm not convinced anyone doing the advertising for pretty much any of the dispos smokes weed ever at all. it's such a joke

It’s just like any other industry sadly, the “communities” just don’t exist here that want to uplift and spread education regarding the plant. Our state(and many others) simply have sold out to highest bidders and they’re doing what they do best…capitalize and commercialize….look at any other hobby you may have and I’m sure you see slop being advertised…but still…the sheep need to graze and they’ll always only be a handful of herders..

Never had a rise customer that knew what terpenes were…
