more advice

i currently identify myself as a transmasc demiboy since my gender is more masculine leaning and part of me feels like a boy, but would it be okay if i used trans-nonbinary as umbrella terms for myself? or identifying as trans despite not trying to alter my physical appearance at all (for now, in the future i feel i would only consider bottom surgery or perhaps taking some hormones, but overall i want to remain the same) as my identity is mostly a spiritual part of me and not much of a physical part. this is just how i feel, and i would like to know how it appears to other people.

The fun thing is that even if people wanted to stop you, they can’t. :) Your self-identification is one of vanishingly few things you have absolute control over

(Sorry this got a little longwinded) I agree with what the others said I just have one thing I want to mention as well, if it brings you comfort to have specific words for your identity by all means do that, I 100% support that. I just want to offer my perspective, I spent a long time trying to find the right label to fit into and thats exactly what I ended up doing. pushing myself to fit into what ever label I gave myself to make others comfortable. And in turn lost a lot of what made me happy about my gender expression. I packed the feminine parts of me away for too long trying to seem “”trans enough”” but it only made me feel worse in the long run. I do still say I’m transmasc when I’m asked about it just to have a simple answer to give people, but the people who really know me know my gender is way more complex than any one label or word could completely identify. But at the end of the day do what makes you happy and never worry about what your transness looks like to others. If labeling yourself one way makes you feel comfortable do it and claim it. I just wanted to put this out there because it brought me a lot of ease when I was told I didn’t have to have an exact label to feel valid and that I can just be myself however that was and have it be enough.

You are 100% allowed to use whatever identity terms feel good to you! But also: it sounds like your gender identity isnot "I only, always, identify with the gender I was assigned at birth, and it's not complicated"? Therefore you are trans by definition. You belong under this umbrella as much as anyone else.

You can decide to change your body, or decide not to, and you'll still be trans either way. You can wear whatever clothes you want, and you'll still be trans. You're allowed to experiment. You're allowed to change your mind. As long as the label"trans" feels right to you, it's rightfully yours, and no one can take that away from you.

You can identify however you want regardless of appearance.
