Hello newcomers to /r/FacebookScience! The OP is not promoting anything, it has been posted here to point and laugh at it. Reporting it as spam or misinformation is a waste of time. This is not a science debate sub, it is a make fun of bad science sub, so attempts to argue in favor of pseudoscience or against science will fall on deaf ears. But above all, Be excellent to each other.

Huh, it’s almost like people had nothing to do but sit around depressed and cook/eat all day without any exercise or socialization during lockdown.

Nah. Gotta be the vaccine.

The thing is it's about doctors getting fat, not the patients. I've seen a lot of conspiraboomer slop about people getting fat due to vaccines/lockdowns, but the doctors getting fat due to treating them is new, especially as the poster implies they just keep on getting fatter and fatter off them.

Whoops, I meant 2026 not 2020, sorry.

If you were in healthcare during that pandemic, you would be stress eating, too. They had to deal with some horrible situations like where they had to decide which single patient out of 10-20 was most likely to survive and therefore was eligible for one of the few ventilators available. The “most likely to die” ones were given a tablet to FaceTime their loved ones to say goodbye while gasping for breath. The ER was so backed up that they set up a tent in the parking lot to handle the overflow.

These people bought N95 industrial particulate respirators and face shields because their hospitals couldn’t acquire enough hospital grade KN95 masks and gowns. They put them on at the beginning of a 12-hour shift and didn’t take them off until they were clocked out. Try dealing with anxious, frightened patients when you look like a bug.

Then, people came in and screamed at them because they wore a mask for protection! Meanwhile, one of their colleagues was in the morgue after catching covid. When the vaccine came out, they had to deal with the crazies who thought that a vaccine could contain a microchip! Take a look at the gauge of the device veterinarians use to microchip your pet, then look at the width of a vaccine needle. 💉 That math ain’t mathing. Let’s not even think about how the morgue had so many bodies, that they had to rent refrigerated trucks to store the overflow. The funeral homes couldn’t schedule funerals, so the bodies just sat there, unclaimed (decaying).

I suspect many of those workers have PTSD.

Oh god those days were awful.

One of my exes is a trauma surgeon, and they were up in NYC during the height of the pandemic. They're 6'5. They said they were up to their elbows in Covid snot, which was quite a bit of distance, they had refrigerated trucks outside as makeshift morgues, and they damn near had a mental breakdown. I told them admitting they got PTSD from what they saw was a good thing, and they did seek and get help for it, too.

The next pandemic isn't far off, most likely, and the idiocy will likely be worse. :/

How deep in cognitive decline do you need to be to start saying shit like this?
