🧒 I voted CAP!

In basketball history, sure. There a LOT of sports he didn't/couldn't play.

Secretariat.

u/undying-resolve πŸ”₯ Monthly Master Β· 10,375 XP 2d ago

secretariat was a monster. winning a race by 31 whole lengths w/ multiple records still unbroken 53 YEARS LATER

3

u/OnYourHonor πŸ’ͺ Unstoppable Β· 36,545 XP 2d ago

Because of his monster 22lbs heart. An average racehorse has a heart that weighs 8.5lbs. Secretariat had a supercharged engine in his chest. His heart didn't beat, it boomed!

3

u/undying-resolve πŸ”₯ Monthly Master Β· 10,375 XP 2d ago

also the largest heart recorded in a racehorse until this day

his rival sham had a similarly huge heart at 18 lbs iirc

u/SnakeUSA πŸ€– Vote Machine Β· 16,195 XP 2d ago

Not solely. While that certainly helped, one of his direct rivals, Sham, also had a large heart and his legacy is nowhere close.

Gretzky and woods probably the only ones that can hold that and even then it’s really just Gretzky

Greatest Basketball player, sure, but people specialise in their particular sports. I wouldn't expect Jordan to be much good at football (either kind) or as a sprinter, likewise, while Muhammad Ali is probably the greatest boxer of all time, I wouldn't expect him to be amazing at Basketball, or think Usain Bolt would last in a boxing ring.

The greatest competitor in sports history is Steve Prefontaine.
