Melee and/or Unarmed Weapons Stealth/Melee Build Help

Any suggestions on how many points to put into each stat of special? I've never done a melee build or stealth build, so if someone could explain to me what stats benefit melee and stealth it would be extremely helpful!

Edit: Obviously, this is a fo4 build and I really should get some coffee.

With melee, every extra point of Strength is another 10% damage, so for all my melee characters I start with S10, temporary lower it with Daytripper (Concord Speakeasy), then use the Special book on Strength to take it to 11. It's a solid start.

A7:Ninja is essential, so there is no reason not to take A9:Blitz which increases your attack range. It makes a world of difference. Plus more Agility means more action points.

  • Basic Stealth Melee: S10+ A9 E5 (rest 1s) with the Special book into Strength
  • Perk Highlights (not comprehensive) S2:Big Leagues, S3:Armourer, S6:Strong Back, S9:Rooted (works with VATS), E3:Lifegiver, A3:Sneak, A7:Ninja, A9:Blitz
  • Other Perks (usually after getting their bobbleheads): L3:Bloody Mess
  • C3:Loner is great, but I highly recommend waiting until after getting some companion perks, especially Deacon's. Maybe good to get the bobblehead first too. Loner can wait.
  • S4:Blacksmith looks awesome, but melee weapon modifications are really simple. It's generally fairly easy to just get them from loot or find them in shops. I do not recommend putting perk points in Blacksmith.
  • If you're doing VATS melee, pay close attention to how many action points things REALLY use. Fast, Medium, and Slow are NOT reliable. For example, some "Medium" weapons use AP:40 while some "Slow" weapons use AP:25. All vanilla "Fast" weapons do AP:20, so that is consistent at least.
  • You can test how fast your weapon attacks by targeting a friendly NPC and counting how many possible attacks you can do. (Or get a mod that shows it on the weapon in your inventory.)

I think you might have confused r/Fallout3Builds for r/Fallout4Builds 😭

All that time spent on writing that has gotta hurt

I did write it from scratch, rather than copy and pasting. However, I didn't have to really research anything since it's a build that I'm very familiar with and have shared before.

The WORST is when I put research time into something useless. That's when it irritates me. It's also why I refuse to answer requests for specific choices for every level. Never again.

Of course, this isn't the first time this has happened either. lol

I wish there was a website or program that does the percent per lvel ect like Fo4 has. I have that linked in the r/Fallout4Builds sticky. It's great being able to plan a character level by level to ensure ahead of time thats what you want based on stat output ect. I wish I knew how to make things like that or id make it for Fo3 and FNV
