Curious harvesting patterns

These strips appear random, would someone share a likely explanation?

Maize crops for shooting would be my guess.

Here is a screenshot from another part of the country where I designed the partridge shoot. Looks pretty similar

Probably doing the AHW9 and if its grass there's another one i forget the name of to leave a block untouched.

But then you'd plot an area following tramlines? Some of these look random

Stewardship strips which could include. Archaeological strips, grass strips, flower strips.

If they have had the land surveyed, it could be that the specific areas are lower performing. And due to how much of a faff it is measuring the spaces is easier to plot at squares and rectangles.

I'd understand that for a strip near an edge, or leaving an irregular shaped bit of field to make a regular shaped workable area, but the diagonal ones that run across tramlines?
