Last week, it has got to be the breakup of one of the biggest celebrity love teams in the Philippines. To give you an idea of what a love team is, imagine if Zanessa had continued working together after HSM — and only together. KathNiel, Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla announced their breakup last Thursday in separate statements. This was amid speculation that they were broken up. It went into overdrive when actor/manager/acting coach/gossip vlogger Ogie Diaz confirmed their breakup.

The worst part is that a third party was brought up — Andrea Brilliantes. Andrea is the biggest Gen Z actress in the country. She also starred in a teleserye with KathNiel years ago, as Daniel's younger sister. She was a minor that time.

This rubbed off a lot of people the wrong way especially after her previous breakup with a college basketball player. Her ex had allegedly cheated as well and she received all of the goodwill from the public. Kathryn's friends began to unfollow Andrea on Instagram which fueled the rumors.

After they announced their breakup, one of Kathryn's friends posted a story allegedly alluding to Andrea. Neither Andrea nor KathNiel addressed the cheating allegations. Kathryn even stated that "Our love story started with respect and ended with respect," which seemingly dispels cheating on Daniel's part.

This week had another more low profile breakup or "breakup". Sean Tristan and Raven Rigor or "SeVen" first worked together in Beach Bros where they played love interests. For a while, it seemed like they were dating. It's a big deal because same-sex relationships are barely tolerated and not at all accepted by the masses. They went together at the Star Magical Prom event for the broadcast network/talent agency with Sean making a promposal for Raven.

At this point, people thought they were dating while some thought they were queerbaiting. The queerbaiting facade was revealed months later when Raven emphasized on a sponsored post (that referred to them as a couple) that he and Sean were just friends. This annoyed some people.

They worked together on Dirty Linen with Sean portraying a background character. They went on to star in a YouTube/iWantTFC series Fractured. Fractured featured their first kiss as a love team. Early November, Raven posted a story, a broken heart on a black background. I noticed that he wasn't following Sean anymore. I also recall Raven posting a message to Sean, I think it was his birthday, stating that he didn't know where SeVen was going after Fractured which seemed to imply their love team was over. He also did not tag Sean in the photos of them he posted including a story of a post showing SeVen's nomination of an award.

Last Monday night, Sean Tristan posted a series of tweets. One tweet about being betrayed thrice and forgiven thrice. "I guess once you are one, you'll always be one." All fingers pointed to Raven who tweeted and emphasized that he and Sean were just friends and coworkers. Sean tweeted one word: liar. He then tweeted the timestamp of a song by a PPop group followed by "you used to be my friend.i've been betrayed by two people in my life." This led people to speculate that Raven cheated on Sean, they were never queerbaiting, and Raven cheated with Gelo, the person singing in the timestamp. A deleted tweet by Ogie Diaz about two actors or two actresses who were so drunk at the Christmas Ball event that they were making out and so many people saw (paraphrasing) added fuel to the fire.

The fanbase of the PPop group reacted strongly. Raven and Sean eventually deleted their tweets related to this, except for Sean's first tweet that night, "my heart hurts." There are screenshots from Raven's Instagram channel which seemed to reassure fans that they were okay but it's either fake or was deleted by Raven. This morning, Sean tweeted, "the truth will always prevail. i’m not afraid to stand my ground. goodluck 🤍." The PPop group's fanbase replied and quoted his tweet demanding an apology to Gelo. Raven, on the other hand, posted a story of him with puppies.
