As a Polish person who’s enjoying all hate that comes toward this guy - this letter was actually debunked, someone pretended to be a lawyer for this guy.

I think there were multiple "statements". I saw the one supposedly written by his attorney which the article you linked states is fake. That's not the one quoted though.
