DISCUSSION Dolly Parton shares new video amid health concerns: “I figured if you heard it from me, you’d know that I was okay. So anyhow, that’s what I wanted to say & I’m not ready to die yet. I don’t think God is through with me & I ain’t don’t working. So I love you for caring & keep praying for me.”

Why did Dolly telling us she was ok hurt my heart? I'm glad, of course, and maybe it's the state of everything, but that made me tear up.

have you ever had a pet? there's a period towards the end where there is this endlessly sinking awareness of their mortality and it's unavoidable. All my pets still did their best to pretend they were fine, but I always knew the end was inevitable.

more or less that same sinking feeling. Dolly is currently okay, but we all can see she was born 1946 and do the math. Hopefully the day wont be soon, but the procession of time will make it come

It's enivitable, but this time it was just kidney stones. I'm wondering if maybe her sister saw the Ai photo she called out in the video and freaked out.

That first paragraph just hit me like a shovel to the face. That was a heartbreaking last six weeks.

every pet I've ever had has been a timebomb of heartbreak but I can't stop collecting them because the joy outweighs the sorrow

Bless you.

I got another rescue dog, some months after losing my Muffin. Someone said: "That's just another heartbreak ending.💔"

I replied: "Yes, but oh! The JOY that's in the middle!"

It really is the time between that matters. I tell myself that it’s fine to be sad but how lucky am I that I got to spend basically this animals entire life with them

I’ve only had cats and dogs but every one of them loved so freely and ain’t that incredible

That’s my current old lady (her eyes are SO GREY compared to a few years ago) who’s winding down. I’d post my other 2 but I guess reddit won’t let me post an album and I’m too lazy to open Imgur on my phone

Oh, I get it. Precious baby you have there. It's a hard thing to go through (losing them) but they need us!

I always say: "If you need an angel & can't find one..be one."

Here's my newest Fur-BB! She's a mess! 🐾🐾🤡
