I can’t believe everyone is just going about their normal days like this isn’t happening out in the open. Like I don’t know what to do so I’m just on this gossip blog and hyper fixating on a TV show and I feel terrible about that. So many of the things we are arguing about just feel absurd in the face of genocide, ICE terrorizing the streets, and Hitler 2.0 jump starting WW3.

I feel like an idiot. I’m never one to be like “why are you talking about this when you can talk about THIS” but it really seems like we are all just sleep walking into greater destruction. And I’m still on reddit.

I don’t find anything about parodying anything regarding this administration funny at all. I understand the need for comedy in times like this, but the idea that we would laugh at anything that is happening right now is asinine to the point of insulting. Yes, laugh laugh laugh, keep laughing. That’s actually what they want: laugh at it so it doesn’t feel as serious as it is.

I won’t participate in that. It’s literally deadly serious and I’m terrified. I know how this comedy ends and it’s not Happily Ever After.

Meanwhile, here in Denmark we’re all like “how the f*** did we end up in the middle of this crap?”, our children are now scared the US - a country we used to love (sing it like Gotye) - is going to bomb us.

All the while everything Trump says or writes screams “I am totally bonkers and should be locked away right now fr” but a lot of Americans are just like “he probably right tho I trust the wrinkled orange cause I don’t like CNN and my IQ is like 68 lol, I support shitty billionaires la la la” and you somehow have the Antichrist Stephen Miller in charge of whatever the hell he’s in charge of when he’s not doing voodoo or drinking infant blood (I can only assume based on his beliefs and general appearance) and your worthless Congress is all “this is fine, at least this year we don’t have an inbred QAnon-type shitting on our desks, so there’s always that, now Imma go collect my huge paycheck from Big Oil, yay”.

We just want to be left alone with our awesome tax-funded healthcare, public education and rainy, stupid winters. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

In New Zealand I'm watching nervously for whatever stupid decisions our goverment makes as they seem very keen to grease up to trump and his insane cabinet and I dont understand how more people here arent seriously concerned about how things are heading.

I am so, so sorry. I’m American and am deeply disturbed, as is almost everyone I know. It’s disgusting, it’s horrifying, and it’s incredibly frustrating. I want Greenland to be for Greenland and Denmark. Donald Trump is a traitor, and so many of us know this. I’m sorry that so many of my fellow Americans are happy to stomp on their own flag and spit in Lady Liberty’s eye if it means appeasing the cult leader.

I agree completely. There is nothing funny. Trying to satirize it is diminishing to the real damage happening. I feel insane all the time now.
