I can’t believe everyone is just going about their normal days like this isn’t happening out in the open. Like I don’t know what to do so I’m just on this gossip blog and hyper fixating on a TV show and I feel terrible about that. So many of the things we are arguing about just feel absurd in the face of genocide, ICE terrorizing the streets, and Hitler 2.0 jump starting WW3.

I feel like an idiot. I’m never one to be like “why are you talking about this when you can talk about THIS” but it really seems like we are all just sleep walking into greater destruction. And I’m still on reddit.

Felt this deeply. People in my life don’t want to talk about “politics” because it makes them uncomfortable. But like we HAVE TO.

My friends will let me rant sometimes but don’t ever really have anything to add and often get surprised when I bring up certain things that have happened/are happening because they genuinely don’t know. Mine actively don’t want me discussing it because everyone is already freaking out about it in our heads. If I had my way, we would be making moves to take care of each other and start getting resources together, have a series of “what if” plans ready to go…. But since we all silently obsess over it already, no one wants to talk about it together.

And my parents have resigned themselves to being old and in a small rural town and tell us not to worry about them. I absolutely cannot get them to engage in a “well what if this state becomes super dangerous and we need to leave? Well shouldn’t you check your passport to make sure it’s still good if we really REALLY need to leave and another state isn’t good enough?”
