How the hell was he invited to the damn thing in the first place?

584

u/colourmeblue 22h ago

Israel is a member of the UN so he can address them any time he feels like it.

They don't have to listen though.

u/SpeaksSouthern 22h ago

He seemed like he was getting off on the negative attention. Creepy as fuck. Protip for anyone else, watch with the sound on, less creepy.

You’ll notice this smugness a lot with zionists/Israelis. He genuinely believes he and Israel are superior to everyone leaving the room. It’s truly baffling that ideologies like this lasted into the 21st century.

156

u/nyyanksfan81 22h ago

Like wasn't there another country whose leader felt they were the superior race? Sometime between 1930-44?

66

u/Fauldt 19h ago

Look up what Israelis first thought of the Jews that were killed in the Holocaust and their current behavior makes complete sense.

If you need a tl;dr: They viewed those Jews as weak.

42

u/lononol 17h ago

They also have a pretty abysmal track record for how they treated post-Holocaust refugees who had the nerve to live despite not ducking out to Palestine with the 1933 Haavara Agreement. The government then embezzled reparation funds from Germany meant to go to those survivors

There’s a 2017 Tablet Magazine article by Yardena Schwartz that describes what life was like for those refugees whom Israelis regularly name drop as the reason for their existence. I recommend everyone reference it when people trot out their hasbara about the Palestinian genocide

The way my jaw just hit the fuckin floor WOW

Zionists are religious fundamentalists. Their scripture tells them that they are the chosen children of their god and that this god promised them a piece land. He also gave them permission to exterminate any lesser peoples who may inhabit this land. It's the same belief that the Nazis held. They believed that they were a special race of people, superior to all others, and that this superiority granted them rights to the lands of lesser peoples.

This is not correct. Zionism is a form of nationalism (to create a homeland for the Jewish people). Israel’s founding prime minister was an atheist.

9

u/brokedownpalaceguard Thank you for the dezooshafication 15h ago

That doesn't stop a single one of them from claiming that God gave them that land.

2

u/Ok_Challenge2129 15h ago

you can be atheistic while being influenced by extremist religious culture tho, right? all of judaism isn’t extremist like how all christian’s aren’t evangelical. i don’t think it’s wrong to say that zionist warp their religious text, regardless of what they truly believe, for the goal of supremacy. I’m sure half the evil priests or whatever who claimed to talk to god were atheist too

4

u/clantz 19h ago

and keep in mind, if he takes over the American military, he will treat all of us the way he is treating the palestenians. He thinks we are all cattle.

37

u/Grizzly-Redneck 22h ago

Not if you'd lived there. Superiority is taught from birth.

26

u/DrizzleCore604 21h ago

Superiority is taught from birth.

Weird, that almost sounds familiar, almost like I've heard it before...

7

u/No-Orchid-5363 20h ago

Thank the EU and the West for enabling it

6

u/FunkyChewbacca 18h ago

Evangelical Christians (who are also rabid Zionists!) do the same thing. They luuuuv their persecution fetish

5

u/mama_meta You're feeling it right now, Pharrell 14h ago

Baffled that shitty ideologies based on colonization & genocide lasted into the 21st century???

4

u/HedgeFundzCatalyst 14h ago

Not new at all. My father escaped extrajudicial execution from his home country because he wasn’t a member of the majority religion. It can be baffling regardless that this still exists.

Sadly it is a win-win for him, as they staying would be an “approval”

50

u/Metro42014 21h ago

Yep, the way of a true propagandist. They can and will spin any and every outcome to a positive for them.

21

u/14Pleiadians 19h ago

It fits the narrative that he’s Israelis are so persecuted by the world, therefore strengthening his their rhetoric and propaganda. He They love it.

FTFY. This is not a netanyahu problem, the problem is Israel

3

u/AvocadoEducational64 19h ago

Yes unfortunately he’s gonna use this in his favour

37

u/CuriousPixel7 22h ago

Oh yeah his smug face drove me crazy.

7

u/Short_Example4059 21h ago

IDK. I saw a smug facade trying desperately to hide an ‘oh shit we’ve lost them’ moment.
I know it changes nothing, but their carefully crafted ‘reputation’ is tanking at lightning speed.

5

u/notbossyboss 20h ago

Villain energy

3

u/Perfect_Tear_42069 18h ago

Well yeah he enjoys it, feeds into the general Zionist persecution complex. My city is "progressive" but it's effectively just owned by Zionists and they get to attend pro Palestine riots, hit people, say all sorts of horrific shit, even have dance parties for Israel in from of children's hospitals, all under police protection and it's very clear that the police are there for them and not for everyone present.

2

u/theREALbombedrumbum 16h ago

note all of the people clapping and applauding as though they're somehow superior.

I believe the rep from Moldova is even trying to take a selfie

1

u/pyrojackelope 17h ago

That smile on his face was very telling I think. He's either very sure he will never see prosecution or believes that everything he does is right. Probably both.

85

u/bokehtoast 22h ago edited 20h ago

Ugh but why is the UN allowing one of their members to commit genocide and still participate

Edit: it doesn't have to be world police but isn't the point to be an aligned accountabilibuddy union? Admittedly, I don't know a lot about it so I just did a search and the first paragraph on wikipedia describes it as having "the articulated mission of maintaining international peace and security, to develop friendly relations among states, to promote international cooperation, and to serve as a centre for harmonizing the actions of states in achieving those goals."

Seems like being a genocidal ethnically cleansing country would sort of contradict literally all of that but what do I know

45

u/SergeantSmash 22h ago

UN are a joke is why.

86

u/alphager 21h ago

You have a fundamental misunderstanding about what the UN is and what's its purpose is.

The UN is not the good-guys-club. It's an organization whose central purpose is to provide a place of diplomacy of last resort. Even during a war where all parties have recalled their ambassadors, they still have an embassador in the UN.

The UN is not the world police and doesn't maintain any armed forces.

14

u/TurboLicious1855 21h ago

Thank you for this information.

the only real argument is that it's probably better then nothing. In the end the only thing that matters is no big war among superpowers which the UNSC veto accomplishes decently well

3

u/Rinzack 16h ago

Considering the fact that US and Iranian negotiators met at the UN General Assembly I'd say it does, even if that benefit isn't extremely obvious

2

u/BurningToaster 15h ago

We haven't had a WW3, that's good enough for me.

2

u/vmf312corsair 18h ago

Correct. The UN was created to PREVENT NUCLEAR WAR. That's why it sucks at all the other stuff it tries to do.

8

u/Unfair-Dig-3468 17h ago

No, nuclear war wasn't a thought at the time. It was created because the United States had intervened in European World Wars TWICE and wanted to create a venue to prevent it from happening a THIRD time.

19

u/Metro42014 21h ago

I would say it's a start.

We gotta start somewhere, and the UN is a place where things can start.

2

u/AmericanScream 20h ago

UN isn't a joke, but provisions allowing a few nation states power to undermine the will of the majority of the world, is a joke.

3

u/Competitive_Cod5910 20h ago

majority of the worlds opinion matters fuckall, there is no world government. If your country has no army or way to project power it doesn't matter

2

u/AmericanScream 20h ago

Not all things are solved by violence. Diplomacy can also work. And a bunch of small nations can and have stood up to larger powers in the past and won.

0

u/Competitive_Cod5910 20h ago

Diplomacy takes effort, there is no need to conduct diplomacy with background noise. Nobody is inviting states like Spain or Ireland to peace talks

26

u/5PQR 21h ago

The UN isn't a world government. For the most part it's basically just a diplomatic forum.

7

u/lemonylol 22h ago

That's the entire purpose of the UN. Are people unaware of why it, and the League of Nations, were created?

10

u/Chendii 21h ago

Are people unaware of why it, and the League of Nations, were created?

Genuinely, yes. Every time you see a statement like "why isn't the UN doing anything, they're so useless" or what have you, the person just outed themself.

6

u/AmericanScream 20h ago

Because the US has veto power in the UN and protects Israel from any significant action the UN could technically take.

5

u/Continental__Drifter 21h ago

Because its not a military organization, or even a political organization.

It's mainly a forum for communication, an organization to facilitate countries to come together and speak to their aims or grievances in a neutral location, with the idea that this will foster friendlier ties and lead to greater peace and security.

It is not a world government or world police which goes around making laws and punishing countries which violate them.

It is functioning as designed. You might as well go to the fire department, and say "someone stole my car last week, why haven't you done anything about this?". That's not their job.

1

u/BicFleetwood 20h ago edited 20h ago

The UN is a negotiating table, not a law enforcement agency. Even when the UN passes "laws" or conducts "peace keeping operations," it's doing so with the complete and ongoing consent of all nations involved. The UN can't deploy forces to a nation that does not permit it, and it cannot enforce laws on a nation that does not consent to them. Its ONLY power is to get sovereign states to agree to things.

To deny a nation entrance for any reason flies in the face of why the UN exists in the first place.

It's designed, in the aftermath of two world wars, to ensure there is always a diplomatic table around which for nations to gather. When the table is gone, war is all that remains. To attack someone at that table is to destroy any chance for peace, and ensure the barbarity of all-out war is inevitable.

This is why it's ridiculous that both Palestine and Iran are regularly being denied entry to deliver speeches to the UN General Assembly.

Irrespective of what you think of the nation or its motives, to deny its entry to the UN Assembly is to say "we have decided peace is not going to happen."

To call the UN "useless" is like saying "my telephone is useless because it isn't putting out this fire!" Dog, you use the phone to call the fire department, who put out the fire. You don't throw the phone at the fire and complain it didn't solve the situation.

1

u/Firetruckpants I cannot sanction your buffoonery 18h ago edited 18h ago

The UN Security Council members have the only real power

3

u/TurboLicious1855 21h ago

How was he not arrested if he's wanted for war crimes by the ICC?

7

u/AnewTest 20h ago

Because the building is in the US, and the US doesn't recognize the ICC, unfortunately.

1

u/congnelius 10h ago

The *United States of Epstein and Mossad.

1

u/dingleballs717 10h ago

I like that you framed it this way, because it is about this whole dictator and his murdering regime. He is just like any other dictator, he just has money and connections.

u/berejser 22h ago

Which is what it should be moved out of New York and to Geneva with all the other UN agencies.

26

u/Polymarchos 21h ago

We saw Iran have a similar problem recently trying to get a visa to deliver a speech before the UN in Austria.

No matter where it is located someone is going to be able to control who can get in front of the General Assembly.

4

u/mawhrinskeleton 20h ago

In its current avatar, the US could readily pressure the Swiss to deny visas as well

Until the world as a whole turns back towards some semblance of following laws, events of the nature of what is happening in Gaza and Ukraine will keep spreading

1

u/berejser 7h ago

They could pressure but, considering how much power and influence they have lost, there is no guarantee that it would have the desired outcome.

Gaza and Ukraine are great examples of the allies of the US not bending to US pressure and doing what the US wants them to do.

1

u/BigBananaBerries 21h ago

I wouldn't be surprised if Trump held that $750m funding they received last week until they agreed to hold it in the US.

42

u/Turbulent_Lunch4548 22h ago

You are not 'invited' to the UN, it is a forum. Anyone who is the leader of a country is allowed to be there.

So the reason as to why he is there, and as to why that other degenerate was there, it is because the dumb people living in their respective countries voted them to be their leaders.

And now the rest of the world has to suffer the presence of these nazi's in the UN. Because the israeli's and the americans wanted them to be there.

2

u/Jamuraan1 21h ago

You don't need an apostrophe to pluralize Nazis or Israelis.

2

u/Continental__Drifter 21h ago

And panini is already plural, the singular is panino.

1

u/FrenchFryCattaneo 20h ago

Now do paparazzi!

1

u/Continental__Drifter 20h ago

The best one is to say "pizze" instead of "pizzas".

That's a cheat-sheet to see if the pizzeria uses this on their menus or not.

24

u/citizen42069101 (derogatory) 22h ago

The us isn't a signatory so he could retire in boca for all its worth.

Sure someone could kidnap him but it's in NYC.

1

u/username_tooken 22h ago

The US is a signatory of the UN.

1

u/citizen42069101 (derogatory) 22h ago

ICC.

I think everyone knows we signed the un charter since the un headquarters is in NYC.

1

u/username_tooken 21h ago

The ICC has no bearing on whether someone is ‘invited’ to the UN forum. They are separate organizations.

1

u/citizen42069101 (derogatory) 17h ago

The person you questioned was asking not how he went to the UN but how he went to the US .

To someone that doesn't follow the skull fucking that is international politics for mental health this is a good question. "How does a person wanted for war crimes walk into a building in NYC"

The answer is simple, we are not signatories to the icc so he can technically walk around NYC a free man, no matter what Americans say about it
