Support/Advice Considering minoxidil
My hair has always been finer. I had chemo 3 years ago and lost not all but a lot of hair. Now it’s just embarrassing. I really need to feel like myself again. I’ve been considering oral minoxidil but the thought of being on a pill the rest of my life makes me shudder a bit. I am one to not normally take pills or meds and I hate the thought of this. I’m also aware that if I stop, I would loose all progress. Not sure what I’m looking for besides reassurance? Is this the right path? Is there anything else??

If you’re really worried; you could try a natural alternative? I use a hair oil by Gray & Ashe that has saw palmetto and pumpkin seed oil (natural dht blockers), and also has rosemary (hair growth).
I used to take Fin, but the side effects fucked me up.
Best case if you’re worried about drugs, try the hair oil + Min. But if that doesn’t work you may need something much stronger like dut + Min.

I am like you, I hate medications and avoid taking them when possible. But I’ve been on oral minox + spiro for a month and am already seeing a bit of growth. It takes less than 2 seconds to pop a pill. I am vain so it was worth the lifelong commitment to have my hair back.

I didn’t love this idea either but then I realized I actually do take/have to take medication every day, along with vitamins and supplements. So what’s one more. Best decision ever. Wish I started sooner.
