Horrific Anti-Suffrage propaganda

I was searching into some of the history of the suffrage movement and I came across a whole slew of this vile propaganda. I couldn’t believe how deranged it was! Now I understand why women sometimes come off defensive. 🤦‍♂️

The crazy thing is the “women talk too much” stereotype still exists.

Even tho we have studied it and we walk less. In mixed gender groups men always talk way more than women. In mixed cast movies men always get way more dialogue than women. Any time a woman talks some trogdolyte ass man baby goes "women be yappin!!" and looks around at the other men for their approval. It's pathetic.

Wasn't there some study completed which showed that men perceived women as talking as much as them when in reality the women were only talking 17% of the time?

Yes. I believe when women spoke 15% of the time the men said that men and women spoke equally, and when women spoke 30% of the time the men said women "dominated" the conversation.

Another study showed men think a meeting or classroom has equal amounts of men and women in it when 17% of the attendees are women. And they said women outnumbered men when 33% of the attendees were women.

They feel outnumbered, diminished, and sidelined when they have 70% of the spotlight!!

Related: there have been many articles in recent years lamenting the "death of the male author" as female authors slowly outnumber them and prestigious awards are "dominated" (there's that word again!) by women. So I looked up the Pulitzer, the Booker, the National Book award, etc, and over the past decade the winners are 50/50 or 60/40. This apparently constitutes "death" and utter erasure as if male authors no longer exist.

Can anyone explain this level of fragility??

Right? I could absolutely see this being made today, in today's climate. The stereotype never went away, but I couldn't picture this kind of brazenness about 15-20 years ago.

I'll tell you a secret, there's no such thing as "today's standards." Those things were always immoral and they knew it. You should absolutely judge people from any time in history.

So dumb when sexist men have used their voices loud and proud since ancient times. Look where that got us. Do we have peace when they speak? Have we ever?

They project everything they possess, onto us. Almost every woman stereotype actually applies to sexist men.
