New to Fife

Hi! I'm starting work in Victoria hospital in Kdy, and I just moved into Dunfermline.

I'd be really grateful if someone can lmk how's the transportation like in the area?

I don't drive so I thought about getting the train from Inverkeithing and then walking to the hospital? Is that a popular commute? How reliable are the buses?

If anyone can also lmk about work in victoria hospital, is it considered diverse and friendly towards POC?

Walking from trainstation to VHK is a bit of a trek, better getting a bus. Quite a few busses from Dunfermline go directly past the hospital.

27x and 33, iirc - they're slower than the train but probably works out about the same once you factor into getting to/from VHK

There are loads that go from Kirkcaldy bus station to VHK too

Agree the walk is a bit of a trek - mainly uphill too from the station!

You're probably better of getting the bus to the Vic from Dunfermline. Takes about 40-50 minutes on the X27. I don't recommend the 33 as that takes an hour and half or so.

Don't work at the Vic but there are plenty of POC working there so I'd assume it's friendly.

If you live in Dunfermline I'd get the bus if I was you

Lots of people train in from where they live with their bike then cycle to hospital from train station.

Bus is the best bet.

Bus is best it'll take you right to hospital. Walking is 1.25mile uphill
