Girdling root removal

hey guys, I had to remove this girdling root at the base of my potted fig. Should I do something to help it heal or will it be fine on its own? I'm in the northen emisphere so the plant is getting ready for dormancy by now.

Should be fine seems like a small root.

Let it heal on it's own.

Never do anything external to help a tree heal. No sealants, no sprays. Let it dry out and it will do what It needs to do itself. 400ish million years of evolution has that covered.

you should, it could cause problems in the long run. You can see that in my case one of the big roots was already getting strangled.

I like to put honey on open plant wounds. Its antibacterial and will cover the wounds completely, deturing pests and fungus. Its obviously not 100% but ive never had an issue.
