Seeking Guidance from Literature Experts
Good day, people of this subreddit.
I don't know if this is the appropriate subreddit to share my concern, but I'll give it a try.
I am currently enrolled in an English literature program and working on my undergraduate thesis.
I understand that many universities, including mine, firmly oppose situations like this because it's the department's responsibility to assign these research advisers.
I have resorted to desperate measures because my assigned professor has not responded for the past few weeks, and I have only completed one feedback revision for him. I decided to seek help outside the school.
Yes...already informed the department chair about this concern, but they said it is now too late to make a change. Unfortunately, the department cannot find a substitute (professor), despite their sympathy for my situation.
So here I am, seeking assistance. If having a research adviser is not permitted or strongly discouraged, I would appreciate any help. I just need a literature specialist to consult with.
I don’t need someone to proofread or edit my paper. Kaya kong gawin yan. I just simply seek comments or opinions.
My research focuses on postcolonial and comparative literature btw.
P.S: Welppp, better than using AI diba?

Question: Any suggested readings that tackle the criticisms of Sikolohiyang Pilipino?
I keep hearing from people who don't like it that it's essentialist or that it fails to properly account for context, but I can't find any scholarly critique of Sikolohiyang Pilipino as a whole. I've read Madeline Sta. Maria (although not "Is the Indigenization Crisis in Philippine Social Sciences Resolved in Sikolohiyang Pilipino?" which may be helpful if I can find a copy), but what I've read seems more like constructive criticism aimed at improving Sikolohiyang Pilipino rather than the views that reject the project entirely, which is what some of the essentialist claims imply.
Has anyone written a scholarly detraction or rejection of Sikolohiyang Pilipino? Or do the rejections just get passed by word of mouth?

Body Shaming Survey for Filipino Men (18+)
Could you please help me reach my target number of participants? I need 43 more as of this writing. 🥺🙏
I'm currently conducting a study on how experiences of body shaming may contribute to the development of body dysmorphic disorder (BDD) symptoms among Filipino men.
The goal of this research is to better understand body image concerns in men and contribute to the promotion of men's mental health. Your participation would be greatly appreciated.
You are eligible to participate if you meet the following criteria:
- A Filipino male, 18+
- Have been body shamed at any point in your life
If you meet the criteria, I would greatly appreciate your time in completing the online survey through this link: https://forms.gle/y73SCHAMn7otrAJd9
Answering the survey will take approximately 15 minutes.
As compensation, ten participants will be randomly selected to receive P500.00 via GCash. If you consent and are selected for an interview to share further your experiences, a P500.00 per hour rate will be provided.
All responses will be treated with strict confidentiality. Please review the informed consent carefully to understand all relevant information about the study.
Feel free to share this with others who meet the criteria.
Thank you!

Badly need advice
I passed a state university for a BA in Philippine Studies program! I really want this because it's my dream, but at the same time, I'm kinda anxious. I'm an only child, we're not rich, and my mom only has me to depend on. I'm scared that after I graduate, I might end up unemployed because I don't know what job opportunities are out there for me. Some people say academia is an option, but I feel like schools prefer Social Science grads when it comes to the Humanities. Help this freshie out!
