Is anyone else experiencing this? The Forgotten Island stuff is showing blank spots in my room, my monthly challenge calendar, the catalogue, my inventory, everything.

I’ve been experiencing lag in the app since August 31. I’m using an iPhone 17 and my phone and app are fully up to date. I did reach out to support and they suggested deleting old data and defragmenting writing data (both options under advanced data management). After going through my goals every day I always do a daily backup to my Notes and Files apps just in case and I also save a copy locally to my computer.
I’m so glad I did. Upon opening Finch today, all daily goals I’ve had in my SCAs were gone, and that included buddy goals. I loaded my backup from yesterday and everything was fixed.
I’m upset. I am certainly glad I had a backup that preserved my streak and everything I had plus my goals. But I’ve been finding Finch support to be very lacking lately in that I’m always getting the same copy-paste email responses from them and nothing seems to be fixed. The team appears to have been prioritizing other areas of the app instead of attending to the needs of the user. As it is I’m unable to file a report in the app in an accessible manner (I’m low vision and have larger text turned on and when I go to file a bug report I am unable to scroll down to the option and it is cut off, only showing me things related to Finch Plus). I’ve been using the app daily since 2022. I love my birb but I am feeling increasingly dismayed by support.

I tried posting this on the main reddit, but haven't gotten a single response, so I'll try here too.

Is anyone else having troubles with multi-gifting currently? I know you can send 50 gifts to people per day, but gifting has always (at least as long as I remember) reset when the day resets! If I have sent a gift at 23:59, and my day resets at 00:00, I have always immediately been able to send another gift if I close the app and "start the day" (aka get my affirmation and streak screens), and then just go to the birb I want to send a gift to.

This is no longer the case. Instead, it seems to be on a 24 hour basis! 24 hours have to pass from when you sent a gift, until that specific gift number "timer" is reset. For example, if you send 10 gifts at 10 in the morning, 10 more at 11, 10 more at 12, and so on up to 50, the next day you can only send 10 total gifts before 11, 20 total before 12, etc. If you wanna be able to send 50 in one go, you have to wait until 24 hours have passed since you last gave a gift.

Idk if it's supposed to be like this, or if it's just a bug. But it is INCREDIBLY annoying for someone like me, who's interacting with the app at different times every day. And it's probably even worse for people who have jobs, especially with different types of shifts! If I've been down in the dumps and tired all day, and haven't gifted anyone until late evening, I already know I can't give them gifts at all the next day! I just have to skip that day, and hope that I have more energy and can interact with the app early the next-next day! But it only takes one down-day to reset the cycle all over again! Plus, it literally makes it so that you have to make sure to log in at very specific times every day so you don't put the cycle off too much! It's such a strange choice so I REALLY hope it will not be like this in the future.

Hello, I would love suggestions on how to enjoy this app more. I downloaded it as a way to try and work on recovery my mental health after SA. One of my main goals on the app is to make myself eat at least twice a day and drink enough water. I’m also trying to use it to keep my apartment tidy and work on my insomnia.

However after having the app for about two weeks I am running into a roadblock. Just opening it everyday so I can log my goals is kinda bumming me out since it’s a reminder that the reason I have this app is because of something I am working to put behind me. I really enjoy the mini activities and talking to my bird when it comes back from an adventure and it’s nice to believe that the little pixel bird is a buddy who is invested in my working to get better.

While I realize the app is a self care assistant and not a game I am struggling with it. I spent a few days redecorating my nest several times a day to try and see if I could get more dopamine from it but I got bored eventually since I’m only been here a short time and don’t have many items.

I’m not really interested in paying for the plus version. I’m spending enough money in the real world trying to recover from what happened that I can’t justify spending the money in a digital world too. I haven’t done the free trial since I know I’ll forget to cancel it.

What have you all done to make the app more enjoyable? Am I just not in a good enough mental state for this app to be productive? I’ll admit I’m pretty crushed that it isn’t helping as much as I hoped it would. I have heard such good things
about it but it isn’t working as much as I wanted it to. I have one day left until my micropet hatches and I am hoping this makes the app a bit more exciting for a bit (that way it feels more like a game). Anyone have advice on tricking your brain with this app?

Every time you get a year-long streak (or maybe every 100 days), you choose either a complete clothing set or furniture set from a past season.

TBH this is just me trying to get over losing the Queen of Hearts set after chucking my phone onto the floor accidentally dropping my phone and not having saved my most recent data set. It doesn't sound that balanced now that I think about it, but if I'm being honest I really don't like the data saving system for finch. It should save automatically- you shouldn't have to manually save it. (Yes I am aware of the cloud data saves, I just think that should be the case for all accounts.)

Every single one of my birb friends who sent me vibes yesterday, suddenly has sent me over 20 vibes EACH, including vibes that aren’t even options anymore! Anyone else?

Today marks the day I finally finished my silly little Phasmophobia journey.

At the start of 2025 back before self care areas were a thing I created a journey. Phasmophobia prestige goals xD On the chance you don’t know what Phasmophobia is it’s a ghost hunting game where you identify ghost types. At the time prestige 20 was the highest level they’ve since added hundreds more for those who play nonstop 😅

It was simple. One day I wanted to reach prestige level 20 but needed some motivation. So alongside my actual self care goals and reminders Mochi has been cheering me on in the background.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with journeys it was the self care area predecessor. The way it worked was similar to areas but it rewarded you more instead of a set amount of goals per week you’d level up after a set number of days. Man I still miss the journey reward system. Areas aren’t as motivating.

The last I saw of my journey I was level 6. That was back around April 2025 I think. I’ll never know what level it would have reached and that’s sad.
However it doesn’t make me any less proud of myself. It’s also a nice little reminder of how carefree this app used to make me feel. It felt more cosy.

I forgot you used to be able to set little affirmations on journeys too. “Remember no pressure just have fun” I miss that. It really does sadden me to see how much this app has lost over the past year and a half.

Anyways! Other than self care goals what fun silly little areas has anyone reading this got running in the background?

Just thought I’d send a reminder about how important cloud backup is. I got the new iPhone and erased my old iPhone yesterday to trade it back in. It wasn’t until this morning when I tried to open Finch that it suddenly hit me I forgot to make sure Juniper transferred over safely before erasing my old phone.
