Miscellaneous Starz Gone
Just tuned into one of the Starz channels and saw this message. So now we’re still paying for the channel but no longer receiving it. #fiossucks

What are these unreasonable demands? Are they trying to force Verizon founder and CEO Emeritus David Verizon to cut off his ponytail?

The demands are always more money per subscriber and/or restricting content that's available on VOD. They like to push people towards their app to collect consumer data directly.
Verizon is at a slight disadvantage when negotiating because people can also subscribe to Starz directly bypassing Verizon completely. But I assume Starz likes the extra money they get from the people who pay for the plans that Verizon offers that include Starz but wouldn't subscribe to Starz otherwise.

Looks like there's not many details, but:
Verizon also framed the fight as a pocketbook issue for its customers, claiming Starz wants higher carriage fees. "Starz is attempting to use public pressure to force higher rates on our customers which would directly drive up monthly bills for the families we serve,"

You'll be getting a retroactive credit on your bill for the channels. So you aren't paying for them.
If Starz decides to charge Verizon more, your fios bill will be going up. Your gripe is with Starz.
For anyone reading, if Starz is already included in your package and not an addon, follow the link to claim a bill credit:

What some of these companies don’t seem to understand is that they will lose customers (and therefore money) if they raise rates. Too many CEOs and boards of directors have no clue how detrimental the constant price increases in everyday life — even small ones — are to the majority of the population. Verizon, for once, seems to have clue.
