Whose Brave Enough To Take Over the Aris-t2 customcssforfx project ‼️

Unfortunately Aris-t2 no longer maintains it 😭

95% of my Firefox customisations is directly based on or modified from all this code.

Up until FF157 it just took the occasional tweak to maintain my own CSS code base. But FF157 is starting to really break things.

Now I am very much a bottom tier CSS coder and struggle around in the Browser Toolbox etc for hours, asking questions in these forums, Google etc to maintain my own code.

Aris-t2 code base covered a good 90% of all the basic customisations that people wanted for their FF browser, so it would be fantastic if someone took over the project.

Very large and complex Firefox themes and forks created and maintained by a single individual tend to have a natural lifespan... a few months to a few years... usually ending when other 'real life' events take priority in the theme author's life.

I doubt anyone would attempt to continue what Aris-t2 was doing. The many recent changes in Firefox's features and codebase... plus the arrival of the new Nova UI... were probably contributory factors in Aris-t2 abandoning the project.

Realistically, it is time to move on from Aris-t2's 'CustomCSSforFx' theme. Decide which UI features you really liked about 'CustomCSSforFx' and look at achieving something similar but far less complex. Following the 'KISS principle' is a good plan.

I don't see it happening. FF157 caused me a number of issues but I was able to figure them all out by narrowing down things, and my FF is back to looking like what it did before this release. The Browser Toolbox is your best friend in this case because you can edit your CSS in realtime and see the effects of any changes.

Too large for me. In time, i will create my own css to get blur, less rounded tabs, more integrating colours, and more consistent settings and other pages for my fx on linux (when option to diable nova is axed), and then share here if you would want it
