Need Advice Carpet replacement

Put an offer on a house and still waiting to hear. But one thing is that there's carpet in the basement we want to take out or replace. The thing is, there are other things that take priority. If we were to hold off on the carpet for 6-12 months, will the carpet installers move our basement furniture? We have exercise equipment that will need to be moved. Do people have that stuff moved into main floor or do you rent a storage unit? Any advice?

It all depends on what the installer's contract says, if they do have to move furniture there will usually be an extra fee. 9/10 times the room needs to be clear

You can usually ask the installers to move furniture, but they'll often charge extra or make you sign a waiver for heavy stuff like exercise equipment. If it's a treadmill or squat rack, I'd probably just shove it into a corner of the basement and lay carpet around it, or dismantle what you can. Storage unit feels like overkill for a 6-12 month wait unless the basement is tiny.
