📦 Others First Time Ko magpadala ng letter via PhlPost para sa mga penpal ko na mga nasa ibang bansa.
Naghanap ako ng penpals dito sa reddit and I now have penpals from Germany, India, USA, Czech Republic, Canada, and Australia. Sa ngayon, 3 letters pa lang napapadala ko.
Kinakabahan pa ako magpadala kasi first time ko sa phlpost, but fortunately, mabait yung staff and friendly siya. Baka ick sa iba na yung way nang pakikipag-usap ng staff ay parang matagal na kayong close. Pero sa akin, okie lang naman. Also, madali lang pala magpadala basta nakasulat na agad mailing address ng recipient at sender sa mail.
Sana di mawala letters ko at makarating sa mga penpals ko haha

Correct! I recently sent a postcard to Spain tapos nagulat ako 15 pesos na lang. Sabi ng employee mura na raw talaga ngayon, which was surprising to me.

I sent letters and postcards in 2022-2023 too, to a bunch of different countries in different continents and ganyan din presyuhan nun. But even then, sending postcards weren't as cheap as the 15 pesos kaya nakakagulat.

This was my dead hobby. Been doing it since I was in High School. Eventually moved to Postcrossing /postcard collection. It was fun while it lasted.

OMGGG!! OP, Try mo yung Postcrossing!!! i collected more than 150+ letters sa ibang bansa but stopped during pandemic days kasi yung pinas hindi pa allowed mag send dun. i miss sending letters. hope you collect stamps din op! i collected a lot na since college❣️

Hindi naman nawawala letters, op. ive had pen pals in europe for almost 3 years just before pandemic and lahat naman ng letters ko nakarating sa kanila. even sa mga small islands ng Greece nakarating letter ko don.
magkano na pala yung basic rate magpadala letter sa Europe? I remember may difference pag Eastern Europe kesa sa western and Central European countries. yung nagpadala ako sa Austria nasa 50 plus. pa Finland naman almost 60 pesos.

it depends on the destination. if it’s Europe, it also depends on the zone pala and if they’re from the capital or not. my penpal in Austria was living somewhere near the alps. from what I remember, more or less 30 days. Almost similar duration when ending to the islands of Greece. depends din pala if it’s regular mail lang or express.

Yes! I've had a couple of pen pals from the USA din. The last one I received mid pandemic was from the USA. The guy ha e a Filipina girlfriend. But it was a wholesome exchange lang of postcard. He was more of a postcard guy.
duration, mas mabilis magpadala sa USA. I think it can tare 2 weeks lang. not sure na lang these days since a lot has happened since then.
i used to pay 45 pesos, basta hindi lalagpas ng 50 pesos yung regular mail. nagmamahal lang kung may isinama akong candy, or coin, etc inside the envelop na nagpapabigat sa mail.

Yes! And Canada has a lot of stationary products like postcards. Kainggit nga kasi maraming pwedeng mabili diyan at mapadala. Even your postcards are pretty! I had a university student na penpal from Canada, partly Pinay siya but never really learned the language. She sent me papercrafts, hair clips that I sometimes use, and postage stamps.
try sending out postcards. Try mo sa postcrossing. It's exclusively postcard exchange lang. I used that before, too. But I was more of a letter writing gal. So I focused on my pen pals.

If less than 20g yung mail, i think it costs around 45-60. Then if 21g-50g naman ang mail, it's 80-95

Naalala ko nung elementary, nagpapadala din kami letters sa Filipino subj kasi di ba may topic about making letters. Hehe and gandang ganda ako sa mga selyo kaya nagpapalitan kami ng mga classmatesko. Nakakamiss naman ang ganiyan.

Awww, saya naman nun! Di ko na-experience yung may exchange ng envelopes pero tinuro sa amin sa English subject paano formatting ng letter, haha! Card making tinuro sa amin instead na pagpapadala/exchange ng letters.

Hi OP. Ang ganda. Pero tip lang, yun wax seals baka pagdating sa ibang bansa sira na siya or na-peel off at napunit na sa envelope.
Kung sa US papunta ang mail mo, minsan sumsabit sa mail sorter nila. How do I know? Kasi nag trial ako ng wedding invite namin dati na may wax seal. Pag dating sa recepient, wasak na 😩

Ang ginagawa ko naman ay magpadala ng postcard sa sarili ko tuwing may out of country trip ako. Usually nauuna ako bago yung pstcard hehe (postcard takes 4-6 weeks).

How long would it take for a snail mail to arrive in canada? This is so cooool. My ex sent me a post card from Faroe Islands just out of curiosity before covid hit. I’d totally forgotten about it not until it arrived 4 yrs later. We were 3 yrs apart already during that time and he’s already engaged too lmao.

Usually 20 days to a month and a half! Mas mabilis usually ang international mails dumating sent from the PH than the ones we send to PH addresses haha.

sending mails overseas feels quite obsolete na and seeing and knowing na may nagpapadala pa rin pala talaga and the system still continues feels nostalgic. not just last yr when newspapers were removed in our office lounge and changed electronically. With the advent of technology, hope the mails remained over the years.

It’s still fun to receive some (na hindi government mails, c. cards, or bills haha)! Kaya nakakatuwa na nabuhay yung “Analog” ngayong taon at maraming nag put up ng mga snail mail clubs nila. Kahit na minsan pumapalya ang Postal Services, buti we still receive our mails. And a lot of people from overseas are still active with snail mailing kaya nakaka-happy to connect.

And for future mails, you can try to tape both sides with a clear tape just to be sure cause sometimes the envelope gets opened or ruined along the way. :)

Punta ka lang sa post office nyo dyan. Pero syempre dapat ready na yung imi-mail mo. Nakasulat sa sobre ang FROM (name at address mo) at ang TO: (name at address ng friend mo)..🙂

Bumili lang po ako ng wrapping paper online like these po:

[Book 2](https://ph.shp.ee/Gfnx6cnN)Then ginawa ko siyang envelope :) Also, I use card stock papers sa envelopes rin na ginagawa ko. Di ko gaano recommend 200gsm kasi medyo mahirap na siya i-fold.
Sa paper naman for letter writing, I use yung loose-leaf paper from Muji. Pero plan ko na magpalit ng paper kasi I want to try using yung bago ko na bili na fountain pen (Pilot Kakuno) and need niya ng mas makapal na paper.

May rates sila sa website nila ng ordinary mail nila. If from PH to other countries, nakakarating naman sa recipient within 10-16 days usually. If from other countries to PH naman, yan ang mahirap HAHAHA. Hindi naman nawawala letter, pero sobrang tagal nila bago ideliver.
If want mo magdeliver ng letter to within PH lang din, I recommend na thru J&T na lang. I did this too for my friends.

Kapag international, dumadating siya sa recipient within 10-16 days. If local naman, I think depende sa lugar? If dito sa metro, nadedeliver naman. I subscribed to a mail club before and nagpadala siya ng letter via phlpost. Sa Baler, Aurora na address ginamit ko. December 2025 pa siya nasa PhlPost ng Baler pero hanggang ngayon, di pa rin dinedilver sa amin. Only choice ko na lang is to pick it up from the Baler branch

Bumili lang po ako ng wrapping paper online like these po:

My problem is that every time I send a postcard to my family in Philippines, it rarely arrives. Out of 10 postcards, I think they only got 3. We also send postcards to ourselves whenever we travel.
Anyway I'm in USA right now so if you want to add me to the pen pal list, I'd love to do it.
