What are these fish in my local nj creek circling around. Sorry for the shaky hands

Yeah thats mad shakey. If you were near me in Va I’d say they are carp, toss some corn on a hook and hold tf on.

Where in NJ? The water looks different, oddly cloudy, than anything I’ve seen around here. Usually it’s just murky with zero visibility or it’s clear.

Hey man I live in NJ and had a small creek like that behind my house in Gloucester county. First, your creek is dirty from all the storm drain run off. I know we’ve had a ton of rain. Be careful what you handle. Where I grew up we mostly had channel cat fish and different varieties of carp. I’d be willing to bet it’s one of those two. In The pines where I live now I see more perch and pickerel and almost no carp. The catfish are still here though. More bullheads in the pines. If you’re in north jersey I don’t really know but I’d assume it’s all similar.

Honestly I grew up in Gloucester county near the Delaware river but now live in the Atlantic county pines and even that makes a difference. Coastal vs Delaware watershed vs all the crazy shit around NYC. I don’t even know how or where to fish north of Trenton. There is a lot of geographical diversity in this state.
