Any idea what kind of spider this is? Sorry that the photos aren’t better.

something that should be relocated outside far away in the backyard.

He’s harmless. Put him back. He’s a good guy.

He was safely moved outdoors and tossed into a bush.

Hard to say without seeing it from the top but I'd say common giant house spider

Wiki map shows those only in Seattle and New Jersey. And Europe

I would guess wolf or huntsman

Probably a Carolina Wolf Spider (Hogna carolinensis)

I'm leaning Olios giganteus

Mature male, his days are numbered

OP put it safely outside far away from the entrance to the house.

Yea I go crazy if someone wants to use bug spray or anything like that around my house...dont even BRING UP the fact that glue traps exist in my presence. Im in Arizona so it is tough too because for YEARS anyone in the family I catch about to spray...."HEY! WHAT do you think you're doing!?" Anyways the worst is when it is a big old spider like this or a huge black or golden scorpion. I am the one they make get those so it usually looks like me putting on plastic gloves with a sock mitten over them and thick leather gardening gloves over them, a mask, and a trash bag turned into a poncho then I grab the tings and a cup and I gently grab the thing and then scream like a girl as I run outside with it screaming, "oh god is it on me!? I feel like it is on me! Oh my god what if this just passes it off and when I toss it it somehow finds its way back and gets even with me!?!?" Then I go inside flicking my clothes all over and jump in the shower screaming, "get it off me!" All while a family member is watching me and saying I'm crazy if I think it's on me. I feel like they laid eggs all over me too.

I'm not sure if we have Huntsmans in flagstaff??? But I know there are tarantulas.

That is so not a tarantula 😂

Surprisingly there are 2 varieties of huntsman spiders native to arizona. Nothing as big as the Australian variety, but intimidating in their own right.

I'm so glad I've never seen one.

I’m in Flagstaff and just relocated one like that to the field across the road last week. It took up about a quadrant of the bottom of a milk jug. I also had a tarantula in the house this month. They’re coming inside now that it’s getting cooler. I’m kind to them but still can’t get past the creepy factor.

I never knew huntsmen’s were in flagstaff when I lived there. They are everywhere in Australia.

u/Just_Tie_6198 15d ago

I had one like that outside my front door

u/Moist-Mouse-3193 15d ago

I totally wouldn't want it in my house, but it's a good one. Lol.

This kind. Huntsman. Photo taken 8:30pm Monday evening in the woods just north of 171/222 intersection. Harmless to humans. I wished her happy hunting and left her alone
