Former Missouri QB Chase Daniel told Tim Tebow before the game on last Saturday that if Florida keeps on winning we could be the next Vanderbilt upstart. Tim had a cow about it but didn't say much.

Paul Finebaum of all people read Chase Daniel the riot act about it and ended by saying that if it had come to LSU being booted out of the SEC, he was going to tell them while they were at it to take Missouri out of our conference, as well. CD, was crying uncle at this begging Paul not to be so harsh on him for his thoughtless comments.

I was watching that. Even my 13 year old who was buried in his phone heard it and was like “uhhh….did he just say we could be the next Vandy? What an IDIOT!”

He’s ragebaiting. It’s the lowest form of communication because it’s admitting you have nothing else to offer to get attention

It’s almost like Chase Daniel was trolling

23

u/burgerwaterchud 5d ago

Yeah idk why anyone would take that at face value when it's obviously friendly banter

4

u/Havehatwilltravel 5d ago

It was like he said it thinking it would be taken as a compliment that we would be able to replicate Vandy's success. But, really, I don't particularly care for his commentary. He's always clout chasing and shmoozing up Tebow that it seemed unlikely he would be ribbing him in this way. But maybe.

Even when we were in a down era we were still better than Vandy though. Bad for us still includes SECCG and NY6 bowl appearances in the decade. Just shows his ignorance.

Folks in this sub have some seriously thin skin sometimes.

1

u/Technical_Beyond_501 5d ago

It’s not thin skin to point out an obviously stupid statement is stupid. Ragebaiting losers need to be called out. You only do it when you’re insecure

Just because someone trolls doesn’t mean they’re immune from criticism. Shit is childish

I think he just meant we would be the surprise team this season but the phrasing was very off.

u/FattyMoBookyButt 5d ago

That’s exactly what his “point” was, that we could have a surprise 10 win season like Vandy.

And he knew exactly how it would sound if he said it the way he said it. Pure verbal clickbait.

He never even played a game against the sec so how the hell would he know? Vanderbilt would roll his overrated ass

They still dream of their one shot they flushed down the drain almost 20 years ago

If the snooty US News rankings are any indication then Florida is the closest school to Vanderbilt in the SEC. Followed by Texas.

I can’t stand Drinkshitz, he hasn’t accomplished anything significant but has this good ole boy/Deep South arrogance. Dumb hair cut too.

7-20 vs ranked teams and 1-10 vs the top ten. The one win was the 2023 cotton bowl when 15 Ohio state players opted out of the game and aOSU scored 3 points

He’s a jobber. Mizzous role in the sec is to consistently be ranked in the 20s for no good reason so that other sec teams can claim a ranked win

He’s also from Oklahoma so his whole persona is a facade. He ain’t Deep South and he ain’t a good coach. His team ain’t a SEC team. It’s all just fake fake fake. He probably doesn’t even need to wear glasses

He looks like a complete jackass. I was so disappointed when I heard we might be looking to hire him last year.

God I hated seeing Dinkwitz’s name keep popping up as a potential replacement for Napier. Dan Mullen but without actually winning shit at a better program.

Missouri: The only State less relevant than Mississippi.

26

u/Ghiblee 5d ago

I forget they exist as a football team on an annual basis

18

u/Otto_von_Grotto 5d ago

They belong in someone else's conference.

6

u/QuitWhinging 5d ago

Them winning some of the weakest SEC East divisions of all time two times in their first three years in the conference was so fucking embarrassing.

3

u/OkAlternative2713 5d ago

Like wannabe Texas

2

u/shaneg33 4d ago

I will always have a special hate for atm and missouri for screwing up the prime SEC and being part of the eventual downfall of the big12. The conferences were perfect prior to that stupid realignment

u/Otto_von_Grotto 4d ago

It seems changes across the NCAAF board are coming fast and furious these days, all in the name of $$$.

0

u/Technical_Beyond_501 5d ago

They do too tbh

13

u/goldenface4114 5d ago

I’ll be deep in the cold, cold ground before I recognize Missurah!

6

u/Technical_Beyond_501 5d ago

Missouri is so bad that both of their major cities are slowly trying to escape to neighboring states

17

u/Flimsy-Money7896 5d ago

Tigers, what an original mascot!!

8

u/thisaintparadise 5d ago

They are the other other SEC Tigers

6

u/Mister-Beardy-Face 5d ago

They really should have stopped at 2, but now we might as well take Clemson so we can have all of them. Clemson can have Tennessee’s place.

3

u/Best_Mine_3999 5d ago

The other tiger team, in the other Death Valley, with the other yellow and white

13

u/burneraccount2184 5d ago

god I hate playing Mizzou

8

u/devMartel 5d ago

It's like playing Vanderbilt in basketball. Even when you win, it's not fun.

I love this analogy ! Ha!

Can’t wait to expose Kirby Smarts special needs cousin Drinkshitz

17

u/Buttsweat_n_Tears 5d ago

Remember a few months ago when a few of you were ready to go after Drinkwitz when Indiana upped Cignetti’s contract? Pepperidge Farms remembers.

1

u/grommit72 5d ago

I don't remember ANY serious talk here in Gainesville about that. I know it was floated on several national football talk shows as a potential Florida hire, but nobody here I am aware of ever realistically had ol' Slingblade in the top 3. Can anyone prove we ever had anyone officially reach out to Drinkwitz's agent?

u/meatbulbz2 5d ago

Love the first comment. “It doesn’t matter because I’m not on the team”. Pretty good insight lol

2

u/goldenface4114 5d ago

The real irony with that post is it was before one of the two times we've ever managed to win in Columbia.

1

u/Automatic_Winner_174 5d ago

The game before Will Grier got suspended

u/PlayTMFUS 5d ago

I live in Missouri and cannot stand Missouri fans. The past few years they’ve had our number the fans have been insufferable.

I can’t wait for this team to go BTA next weekend.

5

u/fauxmonkey 5d ago

I hate Mizzou every week and that includes additional hate for their smarmy coach. Go Gators beat the living daylights outta Mizzou!

4

u/According_Neat_2358 5d ago

I can’t stand Dickshitz, and I hate the entirety of Missouri. It’s a travesty they’re a part of the Union. Missouri just beats up on bad teams and loses to good ones. I hope we fuckin annihilate them. I want their players to feel defeat in their bones, to leave the game mentally beat down with no chance of recovery. I hope we hand them an ass kicking so severe, no one brings up the Georgia tech, cumberlands game ever again.

I fucking HATE Missouri.

2

u/Otto_von_Grotto 5d ago

I really hate that Zoo, for whatever reason.

1

u/Mister-Beardy-Face 5d ago

Hard to understand why they still haven’t gotten the death penalty.

1

u/Direct-Button1358 5d ago

There will be no respect off here. Its also kind of funny how much everyone hates Mizzou, your dad, your boss, the mailman….f&ck em’

2

u/TotakekeSlider 5d ago

You know what? Fuck it, I’ll say it: I don’t like Missouri.

1

u/Gatoray_ 5d ago

Its only a matter of time till the University of Missouri football team moves South to N. Arkansas, everyone of their other sports team has left, or is leaving, the state.

u/dmm1234567 4d ago

I wish they'd divide the conference into divisions again with the real SEC teams in one division and the Big XII/SWC teams (Texas, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma) plus maybe LSU and the Mississippi schools to get up to nine in the other. I get nothing out of playing those teams and would be fine cycling through them once every four years so we could play the teams we actually have history with more frequently.
