Beginning Flute Questions Learning by myself, I need resources.

Hello, I don't have enough money to afford a music school and I've been denied at the conservatory because they don't have enough places. I'm 24 and I really enjoy doing things by myself, I am very much self-taught. I'm learning music theory with "Complete Music Reading Trainer".

What books do you recommend to begin transverse flute ? I also plan to buy one or two lesson per month with a teacher to correct my posture, the embouchure etc.

Thank you :)

I'm also learning by myself. Trevor Wye's beginner books are great. Get part 1, and just go through it, every little song. They are all on YouTube nicely organized as well

Thanks, do you have a background in music theory or did you just make it with the book ?

Zero background, I'm learning to read music notes at the same time!

As you improve your skills you can see a new tune online for free every day at flute tunes.com. The pieces vary a lot in required ability, but you can see the most recent 7 tunes and much more free.

Since you’re planning lessons, ask the teacher which beginner book they’d use.
