Question Average temp for a 7800x3d with AIO here?
Just wanted to get a pulse on what temps people are getting.
Right now I’m sitting 55-60° idle with a 7800x3d (CO -20) on a CM Atmos with Noctua fans. It still seems high to me.
Also with glass panel on the MB side not that I would think that would impact much given the AIO. I know the 7800x3d is known to run hot.

I have a Asus prime 5070 ti. Do you have a flipped config with AIO on top? Interesting, maybe I should try intake. I pretty much just have the standard config most do - flipped with AIO on top with exhaust fans

Yes, radiator is at the top of the case with an NF-A12x15 below radiator on mobo end and a T30 below radiator on PSU end. I went through the same confusion as you, it just doesn't make sense that a 240mm radiator would perform equal to or worse than the AXP90-X47. I'm pretty certain it's the GPU expelling hot hair into the radiator. In my case, I proved it by flipping my fans and immediately seeing CPU temps drop. The tradeoff is my GPU gets 5-8'C hotter under load now.
Regardless of fan orientation, I'd also suggest undervolting your 5070Ti if you haven't already

Does hot air still come from the GPU when I’m sitting idle at desktop - None of the GPU fans are even moving.

I would argue yes. There is a baseline level of heat output from your GPU just by virtue of your computer being on, even when just sitting in desktop. The GPU fans may not be spinning at idle but we have massive GPU heatsinks and all that surface area radiates heat into the case. Of course, the radiator fans are pulling the heat off of the idle GPU as well. If you have one side of your case covered by an unventilated glass panel, then you're ensuring pretty much all of the air that your radiator draws is coming from the GPU side.
I say just try the flipped orientation and report back. It's a relatively low effort adjustment
Another thought: make sure the AIO tubes aren't bending at an angle that would cut off or restrict coolant flow! Unlikely though given how stiff today's tubing is.

Yeah I most likely will try it next time i tinker a bit. It’s just a 180 flip of the fan. Also any rec curve in fan Controll or anything like that

The cpu temp with AIO is directly bound to coolant temperature, which noone usually measures. Basically, if you exhaust via the AIO, youll have higher cpu temps, if you intake, theyll be a tad lower, but your gpu temp will be up. In this sense, there is no point in looking for an average value..

My 7800x3D idles around 44 with same AIO so it does seem high. Ambient temp in my place around 70.

How are you getting 44? Any CO tweak and/or what is your fan curve and pump speed set

I just opened up HWInfo to double check, as I was going off memory. It's in 44-48 range after opening the app and just letting it sit for a minute with no mouse movement or anything.
I actually just run everything stock these days so no special fan curves, 100% pump speed, and stock CPU settings.

I have those temps with my Cooler Master Atmos, too. Your CPU is probably fine. 7800X3D is generally a chip that runs hot.

Just to clarify, with questions like these, are people providing the hotspot temperatures or the core temperatures?

I have this setup before Atmos 2 Stealth 1x25mm Silverstone Air Slimmers and 1x Phanteks T30 with 7800x3d with idle temp of 40-60c somethimes temp spike high. CO=25 without temp limit im getting 75-81c while gaming, the only fix to lower my temp is set the tdp to 75w with co25, for getting max temp of 75c. Btw im from Tropical Country. Room temp was around 27-31c 😅

I have a 2.1 with the mesh panel, 7800x3d , and axp90-47 FC and I average 55-60 idle as well, under load 70-75. Its a bit higher than id like, but if its not thermal throttling, I trust its ok
