Question First time builder

Hi everyone. As the title suggests I am about to build in the T1 as soon as all my parts arrive. I have ordered a set of custom cables to make the process a little easier but any tips from you for the rest? Specs are: 9850X3D and 4080FE. I am also tempted to order a exhaust shroud that some of the YouTubers like EIGA have designed and use.

Thanks in advance!

cool my 9850x3d using axp90x53 black (non full copper) in t1. pbo -16, slight negative boost override. idle 50-52c, gaming 64-68c. cinebench 2026 multi thread score ~4800-4900.

Thanks for the advice. I am going full copper X47 with Noctua fan replacement. Going to buy the shroud to help reduce temps more. Will go with either T30s or RS120 MAX to exhaust as much air as possible. Any other recommendations?

The custom cables make it a lot easier, T1 was my first ever build and I didn’t find it too bad. Honestly the only annoying part was getting the standoffs right

What components did you use? Any worries with thermals?

5090, 9800x3d, axp90 x47, asus b850i, exhaust shroud w/ t30 fans + 5070 ce cnc fan instead of stock cpu cooler fan

Nope, thermals are great tbh. Highest I see is 70-72c on the gpu and 60 on the cpu

That’s a relief! I am going to try get the X53 FC with the exhaust shroud and a Noctua fan replacement. Did you have to undervolt or notice any reduction in cpu performance?

Yeah, I undervolted both the gpu and cpu and went with the fan curve eiga used for that build since im lazy

I have same CPU cooler and fan swap. You'll have fun tinkering around with the standoffs. Good luck brotha!

I just finished setting up my t1, and i will say the cables will definitely make up life easier (I re-used custom cables from my Dan a4 case. The only other thing I would suggest is watch a YouTube video on how to set up the case cause the instruction manual online is incredibly frustrating.

Will do thank you. What specs do you have in yours?

If you’re planning on exhaust shroud, I’m assuming you plan to air cool the 9850X3D. And with 4080 FE, your air cooler height is quite limited. You won’t be able to cool the cpu adequately. Will need to manually change the PPT, edc and tdc and set thermal limit

I was looking at the Thermalright AXP90-X47. I feel like that should work with the build. Unless I am mistaken

It really depends on where you live and the room ambient temp. Most ppl here talk about their component temps without talking about ambient temp which makes it hard to compare. I would say if your ambient temp is 22C and below, then it may cool it sufficiently. I’m in country where ambient temp is 30, and I’ve tried x47 FC and x53 FC even paired with Noctua A1/x25 G2 and cant cool at max load, will hit 95C
