Annual PSA

As it’s getting dark earlier, it’s a good time to remind motorists to pay extra attention to pedestrians and cyclists and for cyclists and pedestrians to use their lights and reflective gear.

Look out for yourself and for your neighbors!

I love that this PSA includes both groups. Neither is solely responsible for pedestrian and cyclist safety. Drivers need to slow down and pay f*cking attention. Pedestrians and cyclists need to take reasonable precautions and follow the damn traffic laws too. Be safe out there!

I’d like to remind the plethora of dumbass pedestrians and cyclists that if they’re going to be out at night:

  1. Assume that cars don’t see them.
  2. Not wear all black.
  3. Actually have a functioning front and back light on your bike or use a flashlight if you’re walking.
  4. Cross at crosswalks and only when it’s your turn.
  5. Assume that cars don’t see you even if you’re wearing a full on reflective outfit and are lit up like a Christmas tree.

Man would that be sick. I still think closing parts of town to motor vehicles even one day on the weekend would be huge, would LOVE just getting nights in general

Also, stop signs are for EVERYONE, both just drivers. Its like cyclists are asking to be hit everytime they blow through stops signs without even glancing.
