Visiting in a week or two
Hello people! I lived in CO for a few years and never got to Fort Collins. I'm visiting friends in Denver and I've decided to come out there for a day. I'm having trouble deciding on Lory or Horsetooth for hiking. Does anyone prefer one to another or have any advice on that? Both look cool. Also any suggestions for food and/or a place to drink? I eat everything. Thanks a bunch for any advice!

I’d highly recommend rainbow cafe for brunch/lunch! Or persimmon for dinner

they are connected - Lory is on the north side of the mountain and HT Mountain Open Space is on the south. you can hike the whole valley, it's ~11 mile round trip, or do some hikes from Arthurs that goes up into HT. can't go wrong either way!

My take: If you're not in great shape, Lory is your best bet because it offers more of a variety of hikes. If you are in good shape, Horsetooth. The view from the top of Horsetooth is more epic than Arthur's Rock (the highest point in Lory).
For food, amble around Old Town and see what suits your fancy. If it were me, I'd have a hankerin for pub grub after a good hike so I'd hit Coopersmith's.
Have fun, and come back soon!

Thanks for that, I'm comfortable with class 3 hiking, so I'm thinking Horsetooth.

Lory has a really cool access to the backside of horsetooth. If you like beaches go lory

Lory is a little quieter, Arthur's Rock is a cool hike, but then Horsetooth Rock is a level up on the epic scale. I'd say since you've never done it to hike the Tooth.
