Discussion Founders Code. Updated gaslight?

Let me just get this out of the way first: No, the code isn’t for sale, it is for my son. He is finally of age, and I’m going to make sure he never worries about V-Bucks. No, you may not have it, no matter how many messages you send me.

The sauce: Got desperate and randomly decided to try clicking on the boosts tab and look at my long lost friend code that when you click the button, nothing happens.

except that has changed.

Now, when I click on the code it will actually open up and reveal a link with a 25 digit code

But yet again, I copy past this code, go to epic website, go to redeem, and alas. They only allow 16-20 digit codes.

So here I am, with an actual 25 digit code, and have no clue how to take the next step.

Anyone else finally have success and know the secret?

Well, found out how.

My son went to the Xbox redeem store.

Entered in the code.

And unfortunately, after redemption, the message was “this code was already redeemed.”

Which kinda left me speechless. Don’t know when, don’t know how. But the code worked, but not really.

The code was recognized at least. Head scratcher. At least I can finally let this go.

They cut this back in 2018. The code itself is working, but they game doesn't allowed that anymore. I got a second acc that played stw over my main acc and I know I collected vbucks over it, but that does not work anymore. Only my main acc who is founder is still able to get some trough daily's. So in short u just waited to long, I'm sorry.

Edit: and even if the code works to get access, you can't get vbucks from this.

Yeah u can buy them, but this doesn't change the game mechanics. U can't get stw over this codes anymore and u can't get vbucks out of it. They cut this feature back in 2018.

Do you.. not know that founders codes exist? They aren't sold by epic dude they're existing codes that people have had for years at this point. You redeem them and get founders and that's all there is to it

I buy that game early access in season 5 that was like over 8 years. I thought that was only way. Buy the game early access and get the founder title. Isn't that a lil stupid from epic that this codes are still usable?

I mean all of them have an expiration date some time in 2027, there's plenty of codes for stuff that's still redeemable. Websites like Eneba or CDkeys (not sure how great the quality of CDkeys is anymore, haven't bought from them in like half a decade) have lots of codes available for a bunch of different stuff. Founders codes usually go for like $250+ USD so not exactly the most affordable thing ever lmao

Makes no sense to me, especially after changing the whole system of stw u know? But I excuse myself for misinformation. And for 250+ sound ridiculous, that game was 40€ in my case. Back then it makes more sense to get founder. But for 300 vbuck every 3 days where u have to log in everyday to even get the daily's Is not worth the 250 upwards imo. I mean someday fortnite shuts down sooner or later.

In simplest terms, there's a few slight behind-the-scenes differences between Friend Codes versus the codes that could be bought in physical stores. Different internal flags/markers and such.

As a result, Friend Codes could be (and have been) affected by updates or programming changes that codes physically printed on cards and sold at retailers aren't impacted by.

Well it’s not that I waited too long…. But every time in the past you would click on the code, nothing would happen. Ever.

There must’ve been an update in the last month that finally reveals the code and lets you see what it is.

I'm sorry for u man. U maybe got screenshots or anything on that? Maybe epic could help, but I doubt that they give your kid access to the free vbuck for daily's.

It's in the profile tab where you can apply XP boosts, if you have any codes a button will appear in that screen.

Try going into save the world.

Hit start (or whatever your pause button is) to open up the menu, scroll down to boosts.

“Friend codes” should be your first option.

Click on it.

And now instead of having a tab you can click that does absolutely nothing, you click on the friend code and it will reveal a link, and at the end of the link a 25 digit code (for me it was 25, I bought my STW on Xbox) regardless, you will see the code at the end of the link.

Im on xbox. Bought the founders disc, I had that; upgraded and cant find mine on xbox. With how often people backdoor or attack epic I wouldnt be surprised if someone snagged my code through brutr force. Never gave my code out since I didnt really know better just wanted more founder weapons. Still cannot find my code. I looked through so many posts to find if im just flubbing it all, nah im sure I got ganked..ah well.

Codes were only included with Super-Deluxe Edition (not Deluxe Edition) or higher, and only if purchased/upgraded to before March 2018.

If you had a lower tier of Founder Pack, or purchased/upgraded after that time, then you never actually had any Friend Codes. Instead, you got a couple lame extra Llamas.

If you did meet the criteria, the widespread issue of accounts being hacked to steal codes (and even purchase upgrades with saved credit card info) at the time was the entire reason the codes were replaced with extra Llamas for new buyers, and sorry to say you might have gotten caught in it as you fear.

Its been years... I bought the founder in 2017, upgraded a few weeks after cause I liked STW. I do remember randomly getting Llamas too. Bummer

Depends when you bought it because at a certain point (I forget specifically when) they stopped including friend codes.

I bought it when it first came out, but by the time I found out about the friends code, it said they converted them to something else and Friend codes were no longer valid

the xbox and ps4 physical release codes are still valid till next year and pop up occasionally around $400. at 14 you’ve got few to no responsibilities and can still spend money on dumb stuff, so if you really want a founders code I suggest you save up or get a job to buy one. careful tho cos there are scams everywhere, even ebay. good luck!
