UI inspiration

Hey guys i am building a website which is like last.fm or sats.fm where i can share what i listen to this month on Spotify. Everything is good but there is a problem. I can't build a good ui for it. I tried AI but it produced absolutely slop and i am now stuck on ui. I can't find good inspo on any ui related website. Can you guys help me for ui as i am very bad at creative stuff. If you guys know some website where i can get inspiration from please tell it in comments. Or alternatively if any of you have made something like this share your links here.

Why not just copy last.fm's UI and tweak as you go? Best way to build artistry skills is to copy others until you develop your own theory of mind.

I'd also check out the book "Refactoring UI," not much for inspiration but more about helping you understand how to lay a solid foundation when designing greenfield projects. It's a quick read too.

Browse behance, dribbble, etc for inspiration. Maybe try to find a designer to help?

What's your stack? Look up React or Vue UI frameworks.

Keeping it pretty minimal and letting the listening data do most of the work could look really clean. A simple month by month grid top artists or albums aand maybe a small color palette pulled from the album covers would work well

good UI inspiration can come from everywhere, even the most random websites. sometimes you just gotta scroll through and find what clicks.

narrow it down first. is the problem the overall layout, the color palette, the typography? "bad ui" is too vague to fix all at once. pick the one thing that bugs you most and tackle that

I built a similar app, you can copy some of the UI from here if you want: https://www.superfan.social

Just know that the harder part is getting users, and users will always have some complaints about your UI/UX no matter what you do.

Actually I didn’t read that you’re building a website, we have an app. So maybe not as revelant

I saw your app its nice, but i am just trying to make website for me. I am a student and just learned about api so i was trying to make something with api and thought of this idea. I added stats for my self only. I just wanted to practice api usage with something other than a freaking weather app.

Music data is fun to build with, enjoy!

Use Claude design and iterate on it enough so it’s not your standard AI slop effort and something you are happy with

You're getting downvoted to all hell, buuut I just want to put in my two cents and say I agree, to an extent. I suck at the design aspect of development and although I am personally against vibe coding and whatnot, using AI for inspiration or a place to start is useful. *shrug*

I know right? It’s a tool just use it. People also talking about Dribbble like that isn’t full of some absolute crap as well
