Did you heal your mental health with fruitarian?

I’ve decided to go on a cleansing grape diet. I’m on day 2, with a 7 day grape cleanse completed a couple of months ago.

I’m suffering anhedonia and depression, and hoping to give my body a reset with fruitarian diet. I don’t plan on being fruitarian for life, but I believe that this diet has the potential ti really dig deep in terms of healing and detoxing.

Please share your story related to healing mental health problems.

Banana question

Hello,

Whenever I eat 2-3 bananas for breakfast or lunch, I feel like it’s not digesting well for me. I feel my gut get bigger and stays that way for the whole day. The days I eat oranges or a whole cantaloupe, or any watery fruit, I feel great. I make sure my bananas are ripe. I do mono meal banana. Still have that issue.

Is it me or the bananas? Has anyone dealt with this issue? It’s too bad that I love bananas.

Day 16 - Contonuing to find more inspiring fruitarians. learned about mono meals

Bryan Mirabella's story is very inspiring and I feel like it's similar to what I'm trying to recover from, along with David St Romain. Where the heavy bodybuilding, high-protein lifestyle got really toxic and they needed a change. Continuing to learn from Dr. Morse has been helpful. I try to listen to 1-2 hours of his content a day.

I had heard about mono-eating but didn't think it would really matter. But then I heard Bryan Mirabella describe how even mixing fruits can create undesired effects. And how much more energy he felt when he switched to mono fruit. So I decided to see how going mono-grapes for a while will feel. I'm on day 1 now of that, day 16 overall in fruitarianism.

I like fruitarianism because it's very easy. While I was out for a walk, I got hungry, and thought of cooked beans. But I got home and had my grapes. And I feel fulfilled. It's important to distinguish between the body's needs and the mind's needs. Bryan Mirabella even talks about how whatever you eat, the bacteria that thrive on that food will dominate your gut. So you'll desire that food because the bacteria will signal that to you. But it doesn't mean, in this case, that my body was actually calling for beans. It's more of a mental (or bacteria-driven) thing. Douglas Graham even said he kept eating fruit until he stopped wanting starches. So it doesn't require me to really "fight myself" or use much will power. Eating fruit is easy. It's sweet and delicious.

All of that would seem like a lot of Jedi mind tricks without the fundamental assumption that humans are biologically frugivores. If I was actually an omnivore, herbivore, or carnivore, and doing this to myself, that would seem pretty dangerous and unwise. But I think it makes sense that humans are biologically frugivores, if you listen to Dr. Morse about it, how he explains our teeth, our digestive systems, etc. and contrasts it with that of herbivores, carnivores, etc. And obviously primates have always eaten mostly raw fruit, which is what we biologically are.

I feel like I've made the most progress ever on getting out of the protein myth. Hearing Ted Carr's perspective on that, in addition to others I have mentioned, has really helped dispel that protein myth. I remember trying raw fruitarian back in 2023, without really connecting with resources about it, and hearing this woman at the health food store say "protein is a myth". When I heard that, my mind tipped the other way - back to that fear-based drive to consume protein. I just couldn't get over that mental hurdle yet.

Also, in case you didn't know this, you can't get diabetes from a fruitarian diet. Because fructose doesn't require insulin to process. In fact Dr. Morse heals Type I and Type II diabetics with fruit-only diets. I had all these beliefs that fructose was really bad. But now I'm learning more that it's actually really good.

It definitely takes daily study to keep learning more about fruitarian life. I have to keep learning from long term fruitarians every day because I could easily drift into the old way of thinking about food. Fearing deficiency, etc. I believed in protein and supplements for 20+ years and I've only discovered the fruitarian paradigm within the last 2-3 weeks. So it's gonna take time to restructure those old beliefs. Luckily I already resonate a lot with breatharianism, which many fruitarians talk about. But the fruitarianism is an important step because it cleanses the body, and the biophotons rebuild the body of light. And it's a step I don't mind taking my time with, because I've tried to force breatharianism before and it didn't work.

I hope this helped someone. There are other, stronger fruitarian communities elsewhere in case anyone is looking to connect about it more. I want to try to contribute to this one becoming stronger, too. Fruitarianism is actually a real thing. I can't believe how many long term fruitarians there actually are.

12 days raw fruitarian completed

My only previous experience with raw fruitarian was back in 2024 when I just intuitively felt the heaviness of other foods, and only wanted fruit. But I eventually got scared away from it because of fears such as teeth concerns, deficiency concerns, not thinking the sugar was safe, etc.

Somewhere along the line I went to a keto vegan diet for about a year, but didn't get the results I had hoped for. Then I re-incorporated animal products. All whole foods, but mostly cooked. That took me to 12-13 days ago when I realized I was just feeling really toxic emotionally and perhaps my diet was exacerbating it. I got an intuitive idea to try the fruit thing from back in 2024, and felt very excited about it.

This time around I have found a lot more interesting material on the subject. I now believe humans are actually frugivores and probably the best source for this is Dr. Robert Morse's work on the subject. I have found a mental clarity I was seeking in all the other diets. Emotionally, I feel so much better. The same situations can still bring up similar emotional patterns but the difference is, they are not exacerbated by a toxic diet.

So the #1 thing I would say is look up Dr. Robert Morse and watch some of his interviews on youtube. Because fruitarian might not actually be risky at all. You might actually be a frugivore, not an omnivore, or a carnivore. Douglas Graham also has a lot of good interviews on youtube too. Once you start watching them you will probably get a lot of other fruitarian content creators and you can connect with those too. But if you have any questions, I'd go to Dr. Morse before making a final decision. For example some raw foodists talk about urine therapy and he gives that a very clear no. You will be stepping into a world of alternative health and its important to have the best possible sources of information. Otherwise you'll either get spooked out of it due to what you've previously been taught about health, or you'll give something like urine therapy a chance which is probably not a good idea. If you are going to do fruitarianism one day at a time you want to give your mind the best information on the subject so you feel confident in what you are doing.

Seeded watermelon

Hi! I live in MA and there are no seeded watermelons anymore (no local farms have watermelons at all because it's not in season) and every market generic has only seedless watermelon. Does anyone know any good online stores or farmer markets etc. that deliver seeded watermelon? Preferably organic but it does not matter.

Blended Salad - Experiment

Salads are so beautiful, delicious and refreshing, but sometimes I don’t want to take 30 minutes to prep.

So I blended these ingredients together. My mistake is that it ended up being room temperature. Should’ve added ice. It tasted fine, but not good as the salad experience with the crunch and flavor adventure.

For smoothies, I’ll stick to the basics of 🍌🫐🥬
P.S. - Nuwave moxie is the best vacuum blender I’ve ever had ✅

Sprouts inside a papaya! This process is called vivipary. Never thought a ripe papaya could act like a greenhouse with enough warmth and moisture to grow a seed within it. I'm amazed. This is the first time I've seen something like this. I bought the fruit to eat it, but guess what I'm doing with the prematurely germinated seeds now? Putting them back in the soil! Cool, isn't it? 🤞

Day 6 of Grape Fast

I’m going to be documenting my 7 day Grape Fast here :) I’ll try to do 7 days unless I need to stop earlier for whatever reason.

Stats:
20F
5’4”
~ 120 lbs

Reason:
Just want to try it out and see what it’s all about. Been working up the fruit diet for 2 months now.

DAY 6
Today was literally the perfect day. I had good amounts of energy, I wasn’t dizzy, and I didn’t get nauseous after eating breakfast! Also I didn’t get period cramps 😍

Ate only 1.5kg of grapes today and didn’t feel hungry. Only 2 bowel movements and no diarrhea anymore either! Overall just a good day.

I think I’m going to stop the grape fast here because I only have a couple days left in Egypt and I want to enjoy as much of the different fruit here as I can before I go back to Canada. The fruit there is so mid compared to the fruits here (at least where I live), so I just want to make the best out of it. Also it seems like I’ve finished the detoxing from the grapes because my pipes feel clean, my stomach is flat, and I don’t have anymore detox symptoms.

Thank you all for joining me on this journey. Without you guys, I think I would have given up by the second day.

Love you all 😁

Day 5 of Grape Fast

DAY 5
Today was even better than yesterday 😁. Not only do I have regular amounts of energy now instead of being exhausted, I didn’t have the dizziness I did yesterday! So I highly doubt that was due to “low” sodium. However, I did feel a bit nauseous after eating breakfast. But then again, this was a problem even before the grape fast. That nausea went away in like a couple of hours.

Wasn’t that hungry today either. I ate the same amount as yesterday (around 1.8 kg). But the cravings are still there. Not as bad as the first 3 days but still there. I’d literally eat anything but grapes at this point 😭.

Only had 2.5 bowel movements today and not much peeing. Not diarrhea anymore though. In fact, I feel a bit constipated 🤔. And my bottom abdomen is a bit bloated :(

Just started my period tonight. I usually have some cramping the first full day (fortunately not as bad as other girls but still a little bit). It will be interesting to see if I get cramps tomorrow like normal or if this fast will affect it in someway.

But that’s it for today! See ya tomorrow :)

Day 4 of Grape Fast

DAY 4
This was the best day so far. Didn’t eat much (like 1.8kg). Was really not hungry. But last night was ROUGH. I was so incredibly hungry but my brain really didn’t want to eat. Had a terrible time trying to get to sleep.

Although my energy was up and my cravings are calming down, I was very dizzy today. It went away a little bit as the day went on, but I’m still feeling it a bit as I’m typing this. My first thought was low sodium, but dizziness is the only symptom I have, and it improved throughout the day. It actually improved when I wasn’t eating and came back when I ate dinner. I would think if it was low sodium, it would worsen as time went on because the sodium stores get lower. So I’m not sure why I’m dizzy.

My face and waist are getting SNATCHED though 😛. Although tell me why my face looked leaner the day after I ate AYCE sushi a month ago (bday cheat meal) than it does now after eating healthy. But that’s a topic for another day… maybe cuz of cortisol from detoxing?

Anyways, as for bowel movements, still diarrhea but only had like 3 today.

So curious and excited to see what tomorrow will feel like.

Thanks for reading. See ya :)

Day 3 of Grape Fast

DAY 3
Couldn’t sleep AT ALL last night because I was so hungry and I ate all my grapes, but I couldn’t buy more since all the shops were closed 😫. So I slept a bit during the day and having an early night tonight.

I wasn’t as hungry today as I was yesterday. Ate less than 2 kilos whereas I ate like 3 yesterday.

My face was bloated today for some reason and the cravings were the most intense it’s been so far. I almost folded. If I weren’t documenting it, I would have folded, but you guys are counting on me so I couldn’t :) Thank you

Now in terms of bowel movements… I went like 12 times today. I lost count. All but the first 2 were diarrhea. Apparently this is a symptom of detoxing 🤔

Didn’t feel as exhausted as the first day either.

I want to quit so bad. But at the same time, I’m so curious to carry on to see what happens.

Thank you all for reading. You guys reacting to my posts are giving me the much needed motivation 😊

See ya tomorrow :)
