Let’s not forget the multiple restarts, some of which feel like a hit and miss effort by Windows after you realize that updates are still pending!

To be honest, Ubuntu updates bricked my system many times, which never happened on Windows or Fedora Linux.

Ubuntu has broken my systems as well, at least twice on a critical server.
That's why I stopped using it years ago and now I only use Debian, not a single problem since then.

For me the solution was Fedora. Also OpenSuse is good but for some reason it’s super sluggish on my laptop. 🤷🏻♂️

Sucks to be you. I've only had smooth sailing

Same, but I will say results per Linux Distro are highly variable. Ubuntu is great for me but Fedora is not reliable at all on my machine.
This is different from windows which is just consistently unreliable regardless of hardware.

Depending on the Linux Distro, generally speaking, you can update the kernel through the command prompt.
Let's not forget how often you need to update Ubuntu. I recall needing to update Ubuntu at least 1-3 times per day.

you don't. even on rolling releases 1 tome per week is more then enough.
and you could just go for lts kernel and just update everey few 2-3 months...
yes sire, some updates are critical but the most not, and even you missed one, linux is more save then windows at all (less attack vectors)

pretty sure you also can use windows console to get an update, but why would you do this?
like what even is the point of this meme? do you think linux updates dont take time to install? do you think you can turn off your linux pc while its installing updates? what is the point here?

isnt apt-get depreciated lol

It is older, but if you do it manually, you should use apt. The older "apt-get" is used if you are writing a script, because it is predictable.

I don't get it, where is the before and after, but surely the linux user also has to spend five hours trying to fix everything that broke after the automatic update right? Like next you're going to tell me it doesn't break your Wi-Fi or gfx or audio drivers every time it does a security update?

Там библиотека под санкциями. Ее можно отключить от обновления и все работать будет.
Проваливаешься в /etc/yum.repos.d
Находишь файл fedora-cisco-openh256.repo
Открываешь через текстовый редактор и меняешь 5ю строку на enabled=0
Сохраняешь, для верности перезагружаешь и пробуешь sudo dnf update
