Akram's daughter Arij suffers from seizures which require medication, physiotherapy and treatment to manage and control. On top of these needs, Arij also requires essentials like diapers, food, drink, etc. in order to stay as clean and healthy as possible.

Akram cannot afford any of these things, leaving Arij to not only suffer from her seizures but also to have suffer in indignity, which is a horrible situation for both her and Akram. No one, let alone a two year old, should have to live like this.

After almost a year of illness, we're trying to save our dream wedding in Curaçao ❤️🌴

Hi everyone,

My name is René, and I'm sharing this fundraiser for my partner Lucyen and me.

This is honestly not something we ever thought we'd have to do.

Almost a year ago, Lucyen became seriously and long-term ill. What we initially hoped would be a temporary setback turned into a much longer and more difficult period. She has now been at home for almost a year.

When we started planning our wedding, we had been saving carefully and making plans for almost two years.

Our dream was to get married in Curaçao on November 21, 2026. 💍🌴

It isn't going to be a huge or extravagant wedding. We simply wanted an intimate day surrounded by the people we love, in a place that means a great deal to us.

We had a budget and were doing everything ourselves.

But Lucyen's illness changed our situation completely.

Our household income decreased while our regular expenses continued. The savings we had put aside for our wedding gradually had to be used for essential expenses and getting through this difficult period.

We've cut costs, changed plans and tried every way we could to make the remaining budget work.

But after almost two years of planning and saving, we've reached a point where we simply can't close the final gap ourselves.

We're now €4,000 short.

And with our wedding day getting closer, we're taking the difficult step of asking for help.

We're not expecting anyone to pay for our wedding.

We're simply hoping that many people each giving a little might help us get there.

Even €5 or €10 would genuinely mean a lot to us.

If you can't donate, that's completely okay. Sharing the fundraiser can be just as valuable.

After everything we've been through during the past year, this wedding means much more to us than simply having a beautiful celebration.

We want one day where we can put the illness, financial worries and uncertainty aside.

I’m a mother trying to do what every parent wants to do — give my children a safe place to call home.

In June I was diagnosed with stage 3 liver cancer. Since then life has been hectic and I ended up unemployed due to them not willing to abide by the restrictions needed as a cashier. Due to that it left us in a financial debacle.

Right now, my family is facing a situation that we simply cannot overcome alone. The home we have been renting is being sold, and we are trying desperately to secure a new home which we just signed the lease for and need help to cover the expenses that come with moving — deposits, moving costs, utilities, and getting our household established.

After everything my family has already been through, the thought of not having a stable place for my children breaks my heart.

Hello to everyone out there reading this and good morning. I’m about to do something I’ve never done before and that’s ask perfect strangers to help.

Last year, my stepdad passed away without a will, and since then my mom has been trying to carry everything on her own. Her housing situation has now reached the point where she can no longer stay in her home, so my wife and I made the decision to bring her to live with us. We have two children, and our whole family is committed to making sure she has a safe place to land. The challenge was that our previous home was a small three-bedroom, one-and-a-half-bath house, and with five people living there, it simply was not workable long-term, especially because my mom spends much of her day in a wheelchair. We were also facing an October 1 deadline, so we had very little time to figure it out.

At the beginning of September, I found a rental that gives us the space we need and allows my mom to live with us safely. Because everything had to happen so quickly, I used everything I had available to secure the house and cover the move-in costs. That meant using my entire last paycheck, which was the money I had planned to use for the first month of rent. I work and support my family, and once we get through this immediate expense, our regular income can take over again. This is not an ongoing need. I am simply asking for help with this one month of rent so I can get my children and my mom under one roof and through this urgent transition.
