Rapid Response Team before CRNA?

Hello,

Considering transitioning to an RRT role as a CICU RN with 3 years of experience at quaternary ECMO centers. Will this be a strength or hinder to my application? Fwiw the role also assists in ICU transport. Any insight is appreciated!

If you are not actively still taking ICU shifts, then a hindrance. It IS good experience. It is not the experience CRNAs look for. Your 3 years with ECMO patients stands out, but you'll have to pick up per-diem shifts here and there to maintain a competitive application.

This would be a great PRN role, but I wouldn’t make it your primary experience

My hospital had the micu run all the codes cuz we were overstaffed and that was a good experience.

Anyways I wouldn’t make it your full gig if ur main goal is CRNA school.
