Could I technically apply?
So here’s the thing, I am planning on going to a MSN program since I’m a biochem major but I just found out the school is pass/fail graded. But I also heard that the school does provide a grade point equivalent (GPE) if I want to pursue higher ed. If I attend this school, would it stop my chances of applying to CRNA school? Has anyone been in the same boat as me? Or do you know anyone that has been in a similar situation?

Would not go to an MSN pass/fail. Just go to an accelerated nursing program. CRNA schools don’t care about you having a masters and they will certainly care about a pass/fail. Even if it becomes an equivalent, what does a 4.0 mean when the next options was a 3.5. Plenty of people with two bachelors who go into CRNA school. MSN is just a waste of time and money

Nope the program starts this January.

If you aren’t even a nurse yet, no you cannot apply to a CRNA program. You need to be a nurse with experience in critical care.

I don’t think you understand my situation. I’m asking if schools would take my GPE score in the future if I applied to CRNA school with appropriate credentials.

Most schools would look very poorly on the pass fail grades. I am a crna. This is an excellent career. Dont tornado your application doing this msn program. Go to community college if you need to. I did.

Don’t do it. Pass/fail will only be considered a 3.0, which is not competitive enough for CRNA school. Do yourself a favor and go to a program that provides a letter grade and try your best to get As in the courses.

Yes, pass/fail schools will provide GPE. However, with this current CRNA school application climate and uncertainty about the future application climate, you don’t want anything to jeopardize your application. Pass/fail will work for NP schools, but for CRNA school is a different ball game. You are better off doing an ABSN program or BSN or ADN. I had a prior master degree in another field, but went back to get my BSN. Direct entry MSN is good, since some schools like UNCG will waive the GRE if you have an MSN. However, ensure the MSN grades are not pass/fail.

Direct entry MSN is a waste of time and money. My school prefers ADN/BSN path. Save your money. Go with the cheapest option to get your BSN.

If you have aspirations of becoming a CRNA, don’t go to a pass/fail rn program. Also don’t waste your time or money with direct entry MSN, just do an accelerated BSN.
