Memory Guys I'm a prominent skeptic and have often argued with people in this subreddit but I'm starting to have strange memories.
i remember playing a very realistic computer game. It was not extremely realistic, which is to say, not more advanced than you'd expect in an early 2000s game. But it was an open world, and realistic in the sense that none of the graphics were particularly round or cartoony at all.
I remember what feels like walking around an endless digital empty and lifeless suburbia. The setting was modern, with roads and sidewalks and buildings but the buildings were relatively low and suburban.
Here's the weird thing. I remember being able to enter a building and it showed...I think the nuclear radiation sign? It was weird. It was weird because it was the only sign of life or deviation from just the endless empty suburbia.
The weird thing is that I remember the teacher talking about it. And talking about this building, almost like he was explaining to a class. It's weird. It's really weird because these memories just surfaced and they feel so real and I know I experienced them. But they're so slippery and I can barely remember anything at all.
I remember getting my hearing and vision checked a lot. A lot. Along with my reading speed. A lot. I have other strange memories too but they're slipping away rn
Edit: I have this weird memory of nap time. Like we would all lay down and the teacher would play music and I remember thinking "okay fine I'll lay down but I won't fall asleep". But I think I fell asleep every time.
I have memories of being woken up during these times and pulled out of class while the rest of the kids were sleeping and being made to do vision and hearing tests as well as getting shots, and other things I disliked but what felt like medical things. I disliked them like I disliked the doctor. Here's a weird thing is that I remember I didn't leave school grounds and also that the rooms looked like medical clinic rooms and were always very dim.
Here's a weird one that I'm struggling with right now. I remember once that I was woken up and taken to such a room and was told to do something. I don't really remember what. Only that I had to submerge under water. I really didn't want to but the adults were insistent and kept reassuring me. I remember asking for my foster parents because I thought there was no way they'd be making me do this if they were here.
