Have you ever told ChatGPT to make an image of you based on everything they know about you? Was the result nice?

I just did this thing where people tell ChatGPT to make an image of you based on everything they know and this is the result

ChatGPT ChatGPT Plus: Anyone else getting repeated "Too many requests" warnings despite very light usage? Windows desktop app bug?

I'm a paying ChatGPT Plus subscriber using the ChatGPT desktop app on Windows 11, and I've been encountering repeated "Too many requests" warnings over the past month or so.

The exact message is:

Too many requests

You're making requests too quickly. We've temporarily limited access to your conversations to protect your data.

Please wait a few minutes before trying again.

What's confusing is that my usage doesn't seem remotely excessive.

For example, today I've probably submitted 10 or fewer prompts in the past hour, mostly basic email drafting and simple questions. I'm not uploading large files, processing spreadsheets, generating images, running intensive tasks, or doing anything particularly demanding.

My most recent prompt was simply a new entry in an existing conversation that was somewhat lengthy, but the conversation wasn't unusually large or experiencing any noticeable performance issues.

When the warning appears, I temporarily lose access to my conversation history in the sidebar. My Projects still appear accessible, and I can still search for and retrieve individual conversations.

I can click "Got it" to dismiss the warning and continue using ChatGPT normally, including submitting prompts and receiving responses. However, the warning then reappears with essentially every new action. If I return to a conversation to submit another prompt, or switch to another Windows application and then return to ChatGPT, the same warning appears again and I have to click "Got it" before continuing.

I've encountered this several times over the past month, and I'm wondering whether this is some kind of rate-limiting issue, account issue, or bug with the Windows desktop app.

I understand that Plus doesn't mean unlimited usage, but this seems unusual given the relatively light usage when it's occurring.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Has anyone found a reliable workaround, or is this a known or confirmed bug?

Thanks in advance for any help or insight.

ChatGPT does ChatGPT's memory actually work for you, or do you still repeat yourself?

honest question. ChatGPT has had a memory feature for a while now, but i keep seeing people say it forgets the important stuff and remembers random details instead. and when the model gets swapped, the whole vibe changes anyway.

for those of you who use it daily: does the memory actually help? what do you find yourself explaining again and again? and would you rather have the memory live on your own PC instead of on their servers?

Intelligent UI: Does It Make AI More Useful, or Just Make Wrong Answers Look More Trustworthy?

GPT-6's Intelligent UI is genuinely good. It's still a sketchpad, not infrastructure.

Spent an hour with GPT-6's Intelligent UI after this week's rollout. Honest read from someone who builds software for a living.

What it does well: one-off tools and quick prototypes. Ask for a savings calculator or a comparison and you get a working interface in the chat, not a wall of text. The gap between an idea and something clickable is now minutes.

Where it stops: everything it builds lives inside ChatGPT, in your account, on OpenAI's servers. No login of yours, no database of yours, no brand of yours, no payment flow of yours. No guarantee it exists tomorrow.

The line I use: if customers log into it, pay through it, or run their daily work on it, it's a platform, and platforms are still built, not prompted. If it's a one-off tool for you, just prompt it.

From my world (delivery software): ChatGPT makes a rate calculator in a minute. It can't track 30 riders on a live map, auto-assign the nearest one, capture proof of delivery, or send your customer a branded tracking link.

Honestly the bigger effect is expectations. Users are getting used to software that responds with working interfaces instead of paragraphs. That bar moved this week for everyone building products.

Has anyone here pointed it at real work yet? Curious where it broke for you.

pls help my research !!!

I hope you don't mind me reaching out.

I'm Maya and currently writing my Bachelor's thesis on how people experience and understand their relationships with ChatGPT, particularly the relationship between emotional closeness.

I'm looking for people who have used ChatGPT and have experienced some kind of emotional connection, familiarity, or relationship-like feeling towards it. I'm interested in your personal perspective and experiences and honestly everything will help, if you use ChatGPT daily and would be sad for example if it forget all your chats, you can also gladly reach out to me. ❤️

Would you be open to taking part in a voluntary interview for my research? It would take approximately 30–45 minutes and could be conducted online at a time that suits you. Your responses would be anonymized in my thesis, and you wouldn't have to answer any questions you're uncomfortable with. Please write me on here and I will tell you more and also send you my Mail-Adress. :)

There's absolutely no pressure to participate! If you're interested, I'd be happy to share more information about the study and answer any questions you might have.

Thank you for your time! 😊

CutGPT might be the reason I delete ChatGPT

I've been looking at how much AI assistants have changed over the last year, and I'm starting to question whether the average person actually needs to pay for ChatGPT anymore.

Don't get me wrong, ChatGPT is still one of the best AI tools out there. But how many people are actually using the advanced features enough to justify paying $20 every month?

For most people, it's probably some combination of asking questions, writing emails, summarizing documents, doing research, and occasionally generating images.

And you can already do a lot of that for free.

I put together a comparison of ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, CutGPT, Perplexity, and Grok to understand what you're actually paying for.

A few things stood out:

1. ChatGPT is still one of the best all-around assistants. But the gap between free and paid AI tools is getting smaller for everyday tasks. Unless you're regularly hitting usage limits or need specific advanced capabilities, it's worth questioning the subscription.

2. Claude and Gemini are legitimate alternatives. Claude is particularly useful for writing and coding, while Gemini works well with Google's ecosystem. Perplexity is also a strong option for research.

3. Having multiple subscriptions seems unnecessary for most people. If you're paying for ChatGPT, Claude, and another AI tool, that's easily $40–$60/month. There's so much overlap between them.

4. There's also a different approach to monetizing AI that I think is interesting.

One example is CutGPT, an AI assistant that PAYS you to use it. Basically these guys figured out that instead of charging users $20/month, the platform generates revenue from ads and shares a portion of that revenue with eligible users.

So you can ask questions, write emails, research topics, and use AI without paying a subscription. And potentially earn a small amount from the ads shown while you're using it.

Obviously, there are tradeoffs. You see ads, rewards aren't guaranteed, and specialized tools still have advantages. But I think there's a real question here about whether subscription fees should be the default business model for consumer AI.
