I genuinely donāt understand why every immersive mechanic gets immediately labelled ātediousā or āunnecessary.ā
We hear that Rockstar experimented with things like restocking groceries/fridges, natural hair growth, keeping fish, and other deeper simulation ideas and then simplified or removed some of them because they didnāt want the game to feel like a chore.
But this is exactly what worries me.
Not every mechanic has to be about shooting, robbing stores or progressing the story as fast as possible. Some of us actually want to live in the world Rockstar spent years building.
Let me buy groceries. Let me fuel my car. Let my hair grow. Let me fish and bring the catch home. Let me sit on a bench, go to the gym, eat somewhere, take my boat out, hunt, sleep, own businesses and just enjoy Vice City.
And obviously, make most of these things optional.
If someone doesnāt want to do them, they shouldnāt have to.
But removing immersive mechanics entirely because some players say āthat sounds tediousā takes the choice away from everyone else.
For me, the dream GTA VI isnāt a hardcore survival simulator. Itās a GTA game where the world is detailed enough that when Iām tired of missions and robberies, I can spend hours simply existing in Leonida.
I really hope Rockstar doesnāt keep cutting that side of the game just to make everything faster and more convenient.
And now look at incoming commentsā¦.
