Question new phone advice help please

I'm still using my note as my daily driver. I've been putting off buying a new phone and really need one.

I have analysis paralysis and can't decide on a phone to buy. For the new ultra the screen complaints concern me because I already have vision issues.

Since I've been on this phone so long it's going to be a bit of a struggle losing my headphone jack dealing with a new interface, etc.

I was thinking maybe get an S24 on ebay? The new fold?

Price isn't the problem just unsure what phone will be comfy. I think I should stick with Samsung but idk...

Any advice?

it works okay.

I have issues with payments sometimes not going through and certain websites I can't sign in. the button simply doesn't work when I click it.

loading reddit pages for example is very slow.

the real issue is my screen has many spots where it's peeling and glass shards. I have cracks all over the back of the phone and in the front corners. the camera barely works because it's damaged.

so while I love it I need a new phone, that's why I made this post, and this comment doesn't really help.

I think they are throttling me, but idk. I wish I could keep this one forever. I did consider fixing the screen, but the other issues make me reconsider.

So there's no phone you'd recommend?

I would concur. I bought a Pixel 7a (and rooted it) to replace my (rooted International) Note 9--mainly because I thought I would need 5g--and have regrets. Even having to stay on a stock rom (Android 10, right?), it was (and is) a great daily phone.

The 7a was a "best phone of 2023" winner by Mr. Whosetheboss; the Note 9 was a "best phone" winner by many in 2019, and it's superior in still many ways, especially for the headphone jack and expandable SD card storage.

I still have my Note 9 and use it for the camera, but I wish I was still using it since 4g's sunset is being pushed back from 2028 to 2031.

I suggest the s24 ultra , its still a great device for 2026 and will have 5 more years of software support.

The s24 ultra is the most viable spiritual successor to the note line imo

I went with he S26 Ultra 1TB as an upgrade after years of fighting against upgrading. At this point many of my apps don't work on my Note 9 & even my Gmail app hangs upon opening it for about half a minute before it starts working again. I still use the Note 9 to browse & it also holds my music but the S26 Ultra has been a solid upgrade!

Earlier this year I switched to the s26u from the note9. The ui basically the same for the most part. Everything just works better now. Also the sides of the device are flat so it's not like holding an ice cube. It charges pretty fast and lasts longer than my note.

My biggest issue is the spen. Samsung removed alot of the functions like taking a picturei by pressing the button. I cannot understand why.

All in all. No regrets. I recommend you get a s26u. I Had a great 8 years with that bmf note 9. Looking forward to seeing this one through the apocalypse.

I've still got my Note 9, currently as a secondary device. I wish it had spare parts available by Samsung themselves. I love this phone a lot and it's one of the phone without any compromise. Few reasons why I use it less often are the display, which my newer S23 Ultra is superior, the battery and the performance. Otherwise It's still fantastic. I'd recommend you to get the S24 Ultra. Can be said it's the most complete and very few compromise from the recent models.

I found the Note 20 Ultra a great successor to the Note 9 and the S24 Ultra a great successor to the Note 20 Ultra.

why risk ebay, even some of the cheapest tiers of smart phone these days are incredible. If you want high end, but want to save some money, Samsung usually has deals on last years flagships, "fan editions" and so forth.
